A plan!!! Thanks Cats but they are just hmm, not me. Someone else can enjoy them. Freaking hurricane wouldn't move them, I can hardly lift one, but then I'm weak in the arms

Sand blast them if they are solid. Quick and easy.

In other circumstances, I might have suggested using automotive valve lapping compound, no dust, and a polished finish, but likely to be 40 hours per bird, given the amount of detail. There are paint strippers that you can paint on and hose off

Going to try the paint stripper and hose. Like I said worst case I mess up and then repaint them. I'll wait til it cools down a bit. The Boy won't do them - he knows I'd blame him anything goes sideways

Be very careful where you do this.

In particular where the rinse water goes. You could kill your grass, mark your drive/walk or where the water flows.

A gravel surface with no gardens on the downhill side of the flow.

Wear glasses/faceshield, and old clothes in the event of back splash.

It's also not good to flush these products down the storm sewers.

Scrub thoroughly with a brass brush to avoid scratching the surface with a steel brush.

If you have time to research it, any company that does metal plating, there are a couple in Kelowna, perhaps one would agree , to dip them to remove the paint, they may well have the ability to "unplate" a metal itemn electronically, quick easy and should not be expensive.

even better idea, sell them cheap and let someone else have the fun of restoring. Mad now I turned down a lowball offer. Once I decide I want something gone then darn it it should happen within seconds of my deciding lol

The only reason I didn't suggest paint remover earlier is because it can damage some finishes.
If you can find some aircraft paint remover it's supposed to be better on delicate objects.

If I was in Kelowna I would help you with it, but start with an inconspicuous spot first. Under a wing perhaps.

Thanks Stu - nah I reckon having someone else have the Joy of refinishing and then boasting rights the bestest idea. They go for up to $3000 so someone should be happy with a Covid19 project :/

Once I tried to redo patio furniture - I was left rocking in the middle of the room that night ( rocking in corners for sissies)

You have a PM Norma,
It's just letting you know I have asked my cousin living on the west side if he is interested in the job.
He is very talented in such things, and I can't believe I hadn't thought of him earlier.

aww, that's so sweet of you. I did them gray to match furniture, now of course I regret I it. Especially when I saw what they sell for "green"

There this metal sculpture I really really NEED ( read want) instead of cranes

I bet it also made the long-tailed cat very nervous. Have you seen him again after that night? :130: :200: [icon_lol2.gif]
