No mention of the fires being man-made, winds, precipitation, fuel-load, or anything else that could contribute. As OKkayak said, they only show one side of any story and that side is ALWAYS the left-most possible view from the left-most guests. In California, human mismanagement and green obstinacy are more likely than climate change.

Aside from falling temperatures in California since 2016, we have a report of the highest temperature recorded... although from a specific station that is build inside a sun-trap.

What are the odds that any given 10 minute slot in a two week period I'd dial in and get glaring propaganda? I've changed my mind from a 50% defunding, defund them 75%.

My rating on CBC is <-- (extreme left)-----------------------------------------------------------------------

But but but some website somewhere says that the CBC are only "moderately Left", come on now, that means they aren't that biased after all. Good grief.

The poll itself is a right wing bubble pop.

The CBC is essential to many folks. The right wing doesn't like the CBC because? They don't want rural areas to viable radio stations? They don't want remote areas to have TV stations? They don't want Canadians actors and writers to have a venue? They want more Tom Cruise movies? The only station they watch is Fox news?

Who knows! There is zero real logic.

Well, 'cept maybe for the fact that the CBC tries to present factual information... and facts are the enemy of the right wing.

Perhaps de-funding the CBC 100% is the only option. It is not as though there are any options to redeem or normalize the CBC.

Asking the CBC to be less radically progressive would be asking for the impossible and I personally do not believe the CBC is capable of being non-biased. It would be like asking an atheist to give a church sermon, or someone who hates math to offer mathematical proofs, the results would be painfully ridiculous. The current corporation and anchors would have NO CLUE how to word any of their shows in order to make them balanced. They have been preaching left ideology so long they would be completely lost. Imagine "CBC kids" (with their 10 year old audience) having to give up talks on marijuana, sex, and transgenderism. They would have nothing to talk about.

This is the policy of the CBC. It is as though this is a response to criticism. How can their "reporting" only please 3% of the population? lol. The CBC is so willfully blind.

"It is the duty of CBC News to inform its viewers across the country about what is happening, without bias or prejudice, and without telling them what to think. We believe that it is our obligation to report fairly and truthfully. Our reporting will not necessarily please everyone, but our audience does have a right to expect that we will be straightforward and honest."

The right wing doesn't like the CBC because it has a clear bias in wording.
Yes, the right wing wants Canadian actor and writers to have a venue, nice try at painting conservative voters as dick heads.
The conservative base asked for a long time for better reporting, the ship sailed, they are incapable of fair news and unworthy of government funds.

One bias that I see in the CBC is how it treats its interview subjects.

When interviewing a Liberal, or someone with a progressive bent, the interviewee is treated with respect. They get to tell their story. They get fed softball questions.

When interviewing a Conservative, the interviewee is often cross-examined. They get asked hard questions and are repeatedly interrupted.

The CBC is very good at telling Liberal stories. When the Liberals announce a new policy, the CBC reports it reasonably well. When the Conservatives were in power prior to 2015, they would announce a new policy and the CBC would hardly report the policy, preferring instead to tell the story of the Liberal reaction to the policy. You'd get an interview with the Liberal critic instead of the Conservative minister.

While CBC considers this an abuse of their material worthy of a lawsuit when Conservatives do the same, with Liberals, all appears to be forgiven.

The Bains, Joly and McKenna videos come just days after Nirmala Naidoo, the Liberal candidate in Calgary Skyview, was forced to take down online videos that promoted herself using CBC material.

Naidoo is a former CBC on-air personality and the clips she used were of herself.

They were posted and circulated online starting at the beginning of the election campaign and only taken down last week when Conservatives complained of a double standard.

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Don't try and pull one over on us, you're worse than the media. There is plenty of "facts" to prove the bias.

You really think conservatives hate facts? Try and prove with facts that CBC is right wing biased. Go ahead, try! We have tons of proof of a left wing bias and almost non of right wing bias.

Do you understand what centre means? Left-center doesn't mean it only produces left wing content or opinions.
From your link:
"In general, CBC’s straight news reporting is consistently low biased, factual and covers both sides of issues." Centre.
"Editorially, the opinion pages tend to be balanced with some stories slightly leaning left" left-centre.

Obviously opinion is different from facts. Hannity/Zakaria are opinion. Wallace/Tapper are facts.
And don't post a Reddit thread or an opinion piece as fact. That's just weak.

Speaking of weak, certainly there wouldn’t be any biases at the CBC ....or would there?

Yea, I'm aware with what CBC does. They are 99% factual all of the time. I'm not here to debate that. What they do is tailor the wording, questions, and conversation to support left ideology.

Once of my examples was they often bring in a liberal critic/ member of office to speak on liberal policy and also bring in a liberal critic to speak on conservative policy. The "facts" are there but the message is wrong. They are telling you how to interpret the facts, not letting them speak for themselves or including both sides of a debate.

Lol, where else is anyone to get this info? You wouldn't trust a right wing source claiming the CBC is slanting stories to the left so I reached out to public opinion. Reddit is typically a left leaning group due to age of user and other things, yet their user base is easily able to notice the left leaning bias in multiple threads.

Two articles from 5 days ago. One is from the Vancouver sun (highly factual right bias) and the other is from CBC (highly factual left bias).

https://vancouversun.com/news/national/despite-shuttering-of-we-charitys-canadian-operations-political-fallout-continues/wcm/af3b1a65-b49b-4ef6-be27-a8a6369f434b/

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/we-charity-winding-down-operations-1.5717899

Vancouver Sun's opening paragraphs - slamming the liberals for a poor decision:
OTTAWA — The demise of WE’s Canadian operations won’t take the heat off Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over his government’s decision to hire the charity to run a now-defunct student volunteer program.

NDP MP Charlie Angus says WE’s announcement Wednesday that it is shuttering its Canadian operations only underscores the lack of due diligence done by the government before handing administration of the program over to an organization that was evidently in financial distress.

CBC opening paragraphs - softening the blow:
After months in the political spotlight and pointed questions about its role in a summer student grants contract, WE Charity is winding down its operations in Canada.

The move comes as the charity — like many other non-profits in this country — faces a cash crunch as donations dip due to the pandemic. WE also acknowledges that it found itself in the middle of a political scandal over the student grants contract that it was "ill-equipped" to fight.

Vancouver Sun - closing statement:
Shutting down its Canadian operations “shows just how much trouble WE was in and how badly they needed this bailout from their Liberal friends,” Angus said.

“They’ve have been in economic freefall for months. This was a group that fired its board of directors for asking too many questions about its finances. The question is why didn’t the government see this before handing them over a contract worth millions?”

CBC - closing statement:
"While the announcement today pertaining to WE Charity is an interesting fact, it is not determinative of outcome. Commissioner Dion remains focused on the examinations underway," the spokesperson said.

The federal Conservatives have been calling on WE to release a series of documents the Toronto-based youth organization promised to hand over to a House of Commons committee before Prime Minister Trudeau prorogued Parliament. Today, Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole again called on WE to "immediately release the documents."

That is a good example ^^^.

So the CBC is 'factual', but they present fewer and less important facts when they aren't busy spewing propaganda.

Did you see how annoyed the reporters on CBC were when Stephen Harper announced his resignation on Facebook. Same for Rona Ambrose when she announce she would not put her name in the hat for the Conservative Party leadership.

Says something.....
