Awwwe, you are so sweet to notice I've not been posting. "Stuff" going on and other on-line groups occupying me so I don't get to Castanet forums daily, or even sometimes, weekly. Quite frankly, most of the forum topics here have a sense of deja vu about them. Of course there are the times that I have a great comment to post and then as I read further I find that someone beat me to it! I hate it when that happens!!! There have been lots of fine people posting on Castanet over the years, even those who viewed things from a different perspective than I. It has made me feel happy to hear of good things in other poster's lives and saddened when we have lost some.
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

Yes, I've been wondering about WalterWhite for awhile too. Just dropped right out of Castanet not long after he became a moderator. I miss hearing his logic on many topics.

I used to get a big laugh out of sleepdeprived. Clever sense of humour.

Hasn’t posted for long time, has logged in May 11.

The place has a different flavour these days. There used to be some community among the members, and not as many trolls.

Truth, I keep waiting to see a spontaneous community uprising with someone one completely new suggesting a get together. Nope.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

I think that is mainly because isolationism is becoming more of a normal thing. Even pre-covid the tendancy towards meeting IRL had declined. Many people prefer to keep the anonymity of the online persona. I pretty much think I have met most of the people I was interested in meeting with in the first place (a few exceptions).

However, now gatherings are pretty much banned (unless it's a leftist protest of some kind). Add in the confusing rules (go to school! but don't get together/gathering sizes dependent upon purpose, legal rights vs opinons) and increasing polarization of opinons (people will flip out on you for whatever you do - you're either sheeple or facists/commies). . . .

Yeah - I've pretty much stopped going out for the most part. I just don't want to deal with all that.
I haven't failed until I quit.
