There is something very wrong in the NDP camp.

No, it wouldn't be good government at all no matter who called the election now. There's an agreement in place for this government to stay in place for another year and that agreement should be honoured. There is no reason to force an election now, during a pandemic, except for pure political opportunism.

Certainly gives the feel of rats leaving a sinking ship, thus causing one to wonder what's going on. [icon_lol2.gif]

If Horgan makes the reckless decision to force an unnecessary election during a pandemic many will lose respect for him. We'll see what he decides. Two short excerpts from Vaughn Palmer:
The plan itself came packaged with what looked like an NDP election slogan: “Stronger B.C. for everyone.”

But the launch was as badly fumbled as anything I’ve seen from this government.

The premier’s media conference with Finance Minister Carole James had to be postponed from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. so the briefing material could be corrected.

The key numbers on the key chart on the economic recovery plan did not add up to $1.5 billion or anything like it.

When the corrected material finally arrived, it was a struggle to figure out what was part of the recovery plan, what was repackaged from other initiatives, and what was double counted.
If Horgan turns the economic recovery plan into a springboard for an early election, then partisanship would be back courtesy of himself.

But when he says he has yet to make up his mind, I’m inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. And if he does pull his party back from the brink, he will deserve credit for making the right call in politically tempting circumstances.

Trust the NDP to eff again.
They just can't stand the fact that they are in a good place and actually doing well.
There was no problem waiting until next Oct when the mandate runs out.
But no - they have to pull this B.S. and have an election during a pandemic when there was no need to do so.
Stupid - IMO :swear: :swear: :swear:

At first I was ticked off but now I'm hoping this turns against them big time.
Would be awesome if their arrogance was their downfall.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

I have to agree with you on this.
Just a matter of what we get to replace them.
Green is just half baked NDP that smokes way too much pot. They have no idea on what to do if they get any power.

Liberals don't have a decent leader and most of the members should have resigned to let new blood in.
Conservatives / Rhino/ fringe parties not an option.
Going to be a tough choice for sure.

Completely and totally irresponsible, that the NDP would put the entire province at risk in a pandemic.

Nothing but opportunistic. Make sure to let your displeasure known at the ballot box. :cuss:

7 now!!! How many more NDP MLA'S will show their displeasure at Hogan calling an election?
It will be almost impossible for the NDP to win with everyone jumping ship.

The NDP is high in polls because they have been doing a good job with the Covid crisis. All that good will built up is now gone with a totally irresponsible election call.

The NDP has done a good job with Covid only because of the leadership of Dr Henry and Adrian Dix. Every time Horgan opens his mouth, nothing but stupid comes out.

He is in way over his head and calling this election proves it.

Is this legal to call the elections so far ahead of the time?
