Many folks would have been reluctant to admit that they didn’t have enough time to prepare such an important document, and it’s to the NDP ‘s credit that they were willing to put the good of the Province ahead of their own ego.

They’ve continued to act just as responsibly ever since, having avoided the temptation to kowtow to special interests they traditionally count on for support. And that’s a good thing, for which they should now be rewarded by giving them another term.

Ridiculous, they ran an election in the hopes of taking power, but they forgot to do any of the things like planning a platform and budget when they did get power, so they should be commended for not doing their actual job and just using the other persons homework? They do not get praise for that at all. They should have simply allowed the winning party to govern and use their own budget since the NDP didn't bother to.

Now we have the NDP with no candidates, no platform and still no real budget plan, and people seem to think they are actually prepared and competent enough to have an unchecked majority. Nonsense, utter nonsense. They are just as ill equipped now as ever and called it for themselves, not one tiny bit to be good to the people of BC.

Sorry but from where I stand you are simply coming off as making excuses for them now.

You are also giving credit for a situation that was not under NDP control, that being their agreement with the Green Party to which the NDP have been beholden and had they resorted to their old ways the Greens wouldn't have supported them, hence as I stated you have been giving the NDP credit for the fact that the Green Party is what has forced them to behave.

Remove that shackle and you best buckle your seatbelt.

Veovis' post nailed the situation right square on the head.

This morning I listened to Wilkinson being interviewed on a radio talk show... Considering his high level of education and intelligence, the man needs to learn that being loose with the truth won’t distinguish him from his predecessor. One of his stretching the truth moments this morning was claiming that as a general practitioner he practiced medicine in hospitals all over the province... Wilkinson only practiced medicine for less than three years total, in Campbell River, Lillooet and Dease Lake, Dease Lake doesn’t even have a hospital... Also, Wilkinson told an outright fib this morning when he said Site C was on time, and on budget, when Horgan took over as premier. The reality is Site C was considerably behind schedule and considerably over budget in October 2017 because of the unstable ground situation, a problem that still plagues Site C to this day.

https://vancouversun.com/news/local-new ... -regulator.

Regardless, people that are sitting on the fence might just hold their noses and vote NDP if Wilkinson can’t show that he hasn’t got any more integrity than the last Liberal premier.

Same thing. Minimal line ups and wait times where I have voted whether it be federal or provincial elections. The only real reason for any difference and change is fear. IT's exactly that same fear that Horgan hopes will get him a majority, we can only hope it doesn't work.

Same thing for me - never have experienced a line-up ever. Anyone saying that there is any "danger" this time is just a fear-mongering putz trying for the warm tummy of the year award.

Personally I hope the greens are removed from all seats and only NDP and Liberals get elected so that if we get another minority government we can't have a tiny minority making sleazy deals to gain power.

I agree with your assessment, however there are just too many idiots on Vancouver Island that can't do math, and so seem to think that the Green Party has viable policies. Perhaps with Weaver gone that may change though.

The Greens did benefit last time in one riding because of the NDP's idiotic and disgusting racist and sexist nomination policy, and were able to win thanks to a huge rift in a normally solid NDP riding on Vancouver Island. Not sure that they can rely on that this time.

It will be interesting to see if the NDP's disgusting racist and sexist nomination policies cause any ridings to go Liberal or Green this time. One thing we all know about the brainless NDP, they never ever learn from their mistakes.

Sounds a lot like they were trying to mislead the voters in that riding, doesn't it?

I hope Elections BC looks into this situation because, if true, it's very serious indeed

So some twit that owns a page, which gets its name changed over and over, takes it upon himself "on a whim" as stated, to change the page name yet again, without informing the Liberal Party and it's being presented as the Liberal Party's fault? Got it! :135:

Exactly. Talk about dishonest and disingenuous presentation of a news story. Just disgusting.

The article says the "twit" you refer to was the Liberal Campaign Manager for that riding, so yes, I do think the Liberal Party has to accept responsibility for what happened.

Perhaps you need to read the story again.

The person is the campaign manager for the candidate (Jones) in that riding, but he also stated that he did NOT check with the riding association which would in fact represent the Liberal Party.

Tali Campbell, Jones’ BC Liberal campaign manager, confirmed to PressProgress that he was a co-owner of the page and made the decision to quietly transform it into a BC Liberal page without consulting the riding association.

So clearly the person took it upon himself to do something that did not have the blessing of the Liberal Party, yet the story is being presented as though this was some sort of Liberal Party malfeasance.

I guess all bets are off, when it comes to exploiting opportunities to attack the Liberal Party during an election campaign.

Heck for all we know Campbell may not even be a Liberal, and is simply engaging in whatever he thinks will further his career.

It is simple . If someone is running around saying they are representing the BCLibs , then it isup to them to fix it .

BCLibs chose to let it go until it backfired so yea it is on them.

^^ I suppose that's one take on it, but oddly I'm guessing that were this an NDP candidate doing the same thing, you'd be inclined to give them a pass.

Naturally there's no way that the Liberal Party could be busy with election business, and can't be monitoring every Facebook page on the planet.
