Not always. Every time I have price shopped Quality tire has met or beat the "Big" shops for the same or a comparable tire.

The saving grace is that Kal Tire, etc. demand much larger profit margins, so prices are often similar. But when it comes to the best of the best deals, I have never seen a small shop give me 4 tires for $430 like Crappy Tire did last year (MasterCraft sale price).

I don’t sew any ambiguity other than if someone told you that there was a rebate and then you proceeded without checking................

Actually I received an email directly from Michelin. In response to your post I went into the Michelin site.
I guess they've had some complaints, as it has been changed with a notation that the sale does not apply at Canadian Tire and Costco. It wasn't there three weeks ago.

Ah ok. I was wondering about that.

Given Kelowna's high crime rate it is now allowed, but anyway, the cheapest tires are on any random car you can find on the street that matches your car. All you need is a jack and a tire iron.

There was an older Mercedes not far from where I live with the front wheels missing. It was sitting in the middle of a parking lot and the trunk was open as well.

Likely exactly what you are suggesting.

3 season tires are pretty well useless on the Connector/Coq in winter storm/heavy snow conditions.
