This beer is brewed in Kamloops. It was most likely being delivered to the distribution warehouse but for some reason the truck was parked for the weekend.
And it was parked less then a km from the warehouse.

What was the driver thinking? He wasn't.
You don't leave a load of beer parked unsecured for any length of time.

I wonder if it was an inside job?

Sounds like the driver let people know the truck was full. Years ago a major grocery chain in a huge mall had their loading docks in full view of the parking lots. Drivers would leave trailers full of meat to be unloaded then come back to get the empty trailer(s). That worked for a while until 2 trailers full of meat and poultry went missing one weekend. Seems the overnight store associates were too busy (read too damn lazy to do their job) to unload the meat and put in appropriate coolers/freezers.

I didn't read anywhere in the story that the warehouse was open or closed when it ended up being parked. My first guess would be they were closed so we had to park it somewhere. And it would not be the driver's job to take care of the beer or think. He's paid to do his job and when his job is done he goes home.
If it was an intentional situation it would be obvious the driver would be the first person to be looked at so I really doubt there is any nefarious actions going on other than the people who stole the beer

It is a good beer and 5.6 ABV. Something stinks if it was left so close to the distillery.

Coming up on two years ago, that beer has most likely been fully recycled a couple of times.
Maybe even into a better beer.
