That’s encouraging but our forces are woefully inadequate both in numbers and equipment .mikest2 wrote:The Rangers have been and are receiving a new rifle, nice piece, C-19, it's a Colt Canada built Sako design 7.62x51George Orwell 1984 wrote:Not to worry we have the Canadian rangers with their 303 Lee Enfields and 200 rounds of ammunition.

The United States see Trudeau's actions as a threat to their national security. Why is Little Potato in bed with the communist dictatorship of China?

Re: Canada training Chinese military in cold weather warfare
The Canadian Army take on this is:
“We do not train with the PLA,” a DND spokesperson told the Toronto Sun. “However, based on an agreement signed in 2013, there has been the occasional, reciprocal granting of observer-status for non-sensitive activities, including winter survival exercises.”
The Canada-China Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments Agreement came into practice in 2014 when Stephen Harper was still prime minister.

This was in practice when the CCP was not as scrutinized as it is today. Most people (99.99%) would think differently of this practice now, except apparently Justin. What I see is that it is reciprocal granting of observer-status for non-sensitive activities, including winter survival exercises. Still not sure what this means or if I believe it. There are conflicting reports on whether the PLA received winter "training". If the US and five eye countries asked us to cancel this, then I would say training was likely happening.

I can't see anything wrong with this...
USA always was comcerned about their neighbours to the north. We are and always will be the weak link to the USA defence. This is further one more reason that Defence Minisiter should not be, he is not so bright. I'm still questioning how he could have been a Police Officer.
I can't undertand why this was let go by the USA. It makes no sense at all.
It's like teaching HA and Street gangs shooting in the Vancouver police range. Makes sense to me, less accidental discharges, only two shots instead of random shots fired endangering Civilians. Why not, maybe Surrey PS will have shooting clases!!

Ahahahaha. We're a little lapdog on a very short leash. US says jump, we ask how high. US says drop it- we drop it like a little b-word.bb49 wrote:
One of the reasons was that the Americans were rightly concerned about an “undesired knowledge transfer” from Canada to China. And the Liberals never gave that a moment's thought?![]()

Vancouver Isle and Prince Rupert are training areas because it could be the possible beach head for CCP staging areas for an all out attack on the Continental US and Canada. For some reason they like islands just use Taiwan as an example, even Australia is a big bone with all the natural resources their lacking don't under estimate the Chicoms it is a slow process until they strike.

A invading force would still be limited to geography and roads-which have bridges-which would be taken out by our own forces to stop the advance.edmskeptic wrote:Some people get what's going on in the world.Purity wrote:Vancouver Isle and Prince Rupert are training areas because it could be the possible beach head for CCP staging areas for an all out attack on the Continental US and Canada. They wouldn't make it that far in anyway. Their fleet and landing craft would be nuked well before getting into coastal waters. And even if they did manage to actually put boots on the ground, those boots would be neutron bombed before they made it any distance inland.
Some may view my politically incorrect opinions as harsh and may be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing.

Perhaps Mr Sajjan should talk to his party leader, it does not appear that they are on the same page.

Brilliant - train them so it's even easier for them to invade and conquer us. China is the biggest threat to Western democracies ever.

Re: Canada training Chinese military in cold weather warfare
think about big picture.
Does Trudeau want a great reset?
If so how?
1) need an economic collapse.
eg. hyperinflation from printing free money with cerb and small business bankruptcy through "public health concerns"
2) hungry people tend to demand food
(growing your own and self sustainability has been culturally put into extinction by public education)
3) food riots need to be quelled.
Canadian forces unlikely to fire upon citizens.
But Chinese troops wearing UN badges happily will.
Gulag archipelago.
