Since i couldnt find a cpc thread i thought i would start one so there isnt lots of disconnected threads .
first off for me is what are the leadership of the cpc going to do over derek sloans defence of him saying "the cpc leadership should ot complain about a donation from a known neo nazi because he is a member of the party."

now call me zany but i think mr sloan just exposed a big problem for the cpc going forward .

that is for the whole world , the conservative ideology . this is for canada and specific to cpc unless they change names .

Sloan is only the tip of the iceberg in the Conservative party. Erin O'Toole can say there isn't room in his party for the far right but there are far too many already there. Even his deputy leader of the Conservative party is a Trump supporter. We don't need anything to do with the Conservative party.

the cpc has now booted mr fromm from the cpc party . great reporting by press progress has influenced how the cpc deals with bad elements in its party which is a win for all canadians.

Whataboutism is great, but the CPC wants to gain trust they have to be BETTER. Better than they were; better than the worst of the Liberal Party. It isn't enough to be equally bad.

There is no wrong outcome of a election in a particular riding if the majority of the voters in that riding have the same way of thinking as the MP they voted in to represent them.

While Sloan has courted his fair share of controversy for months, the idea he should be booted from caucus specifically because of a donation he said he had not realized he'd received wasn't sitting well with some MPs and party supporters.

And the move prompted immediate backlash from some anti-abortion groups, who had been firmly in Sloan's corner during the leadership race he lost to O'Toole almost six months ago.

The group Right Now urged backers to contact MPs to voice their displeasure. "We feel that this an attempt to discourage pro-lifers from engaging within the Conservative Party of Canada, specifically at the upcoming policy convention," Right Now's email said.

To your point though, should Sloan be turfed from the Conservative Party he would still hold his seat in Parliament and sit as an independent. Ergo, the voters in that riding who voted him in presumably still have the same way of thinking as the MP they voted in to represent them. He will simply just be more irrelevant, as many of those outdated conservative values have.

I just hope that Derek Sloan sticks around and is in the news a lot. Same with the other conversion therapy advocates in the Conservative party. Candace really is awesome. She's an awesome example of the extremist Trump wing of the Conservative party. If you're going to wear a MAGA hat, you have to wear the MAGA hat publicity.
