Shout Out to the KGH Nurses
I had the misfortune of needing to go to the hospital last night. I gotta give props to the amazing care received from the nurses. Two men were pretty out of hand and the police were called, but the nurses handled it with grace and took care to make sure their patients were as comfortable as could be and safe. It was busy last night (though not as busy as I have seen it get) and I have to say, I'm happy with their new system of "streaming" care. I was in, seen and treated in about 3.5 hours (that's gotta be a record or something).
Here's a shout out to all the amazing nurses at KGH. You rawk.

care
I've heard all kinds of responses to the care in hospitals, and just thought
that I'd share mine. My mother had a minor stroke several years ago and
spent some time in KGH. I dont remember how long , but it seemed like
3 or 4 weeks. She is turning 90 next saterday, so she was in her 80s.
They lost all her personal belongings including her winter jacket. The response that I remember was "Cant she just pick something from the
lost and found for now". She also complained of not having someone help
her with a "wash down" or bath. Not having any experience with care giving to a person in need of special help, my family was at a loss.
I dont mean to dis the nurses and support staff at KGH, Im sure that
they are overworked and all . But all is not roses here in "pair o dice".
Sorry. My opinion.

I agree also. I had a terrible experience at KGH during the birth of my second child. Out of all the nurses during our four days spent there, only three nurses were really wonderful. The funny thing is, I don't remember any of the faces of those nurses who did not treat us very well....I only remember those three nurses who did such a wonderful job looking after me and my new baby....

I really believe that the nurses are much more inclined to be sympathetic, empathetic, and caring when you let them (or think you're letting them) run the show. If you think you need a different test, or need something to feel better, let them think they thought it up. I feel awful for how they get treated. They are overworked, and under thanked.
I have been there for 3 babies, 2 miscarriages, one mystery illness that turned out to be quite serious, and have taken my kids there a few times. Out of all the nurses and other various staff I've met there, only 2 I have had, and always will have, issues with.
Thanks to the nurses for a job well done!!

I think that is a perfect example of not giving credit where credit is due.
If three nurses were excellent and wonderful, you should give credit to those three nurses. I wouldn't classify it as a 'terrible' experience. A truly terrible experience would be having no good nurses. ;)
