Personally for me, I'm going to take a path of least resistance on this topic. I'll miss duck hunting and sport shooting, sure. I would miss being accepted at my workplace and family more...

Don't want to be labeled a gun nut, redneck, crazy person, outdated, cruel, criminal supporter... Heard it all.

Would I sign a petition to ban guns? No. Will I sign a petition to keep guns? Yes. Will I be a vocal supporter anymore? No.

Funny how gun control advocates don't have a single brain cell of reason.

There are a plethora of methods to snuffing someone out, even one's self.

Crossbow's, sling shots ROPE, etc. - well - you won't hear them and they are just as lethal , and a hell of a lot more accurate than a handgun and really really easy to make.

Even a person skilled with a knife can slice out a liver before the person even realizes he's just been killed.

I guess like most gun control nuts though, they have this preponderance that this will stop anything.

Guess what - surprise surprise - won't stop a damn thing.

Just change the method is all, and for all the de-population psycho's out there one would think they should be fighting against gun control - after all - it depopulates the planet.

I simply can't believe how dependent people have become on daddy and mommy government.

Canadians are not allowed to use firearms in self defence, the courts throw the criminals with guns back out on the street.

Back in the day before colour was invented-we didn't have the problems we have now even though every house had a 30-30, a .22 and a crack barrel 12 gauge.
Back in the day, no one cared about having a FAC or PAL and we used to bring our rifles on the school bus and put them in the gun rack -in the school. Then at 315pm, get on our buddies bus, and go to his family farm or wherever,- sometimes out to the reserve cuz we had F/N friends we went hunting with after school.
What happened?

Mel lead off by saying he hadn't read the gun control bill. Then he talked about how bad it was. Then the interviewer asked Mel how could he know how bad it was it he hadn't read it. Ah, errrr, ummm, eh, oh.

Fair enough but what do you propose be done about all the illegal firearms out there?
I would bet my first born son that the majority of crimes committed with a firearm are done using illegal, unregistered guns.

The problem is not the gun it is the user. We could pull ten knife killings easily. We could pull many other cases of homicides easily where guns were not used.

With USA the hand gun and military weapon paradise, tell us how you propose to stop all illegal weapons from coming to Canada?

The Liberals threw millions into the gun registry and likely less then half of the firearms in Canada are currently registered. The registered gun should not be the one feared. The ones you need to watch out for are the ones in the hands of the Criminal.

They don't know how to shoot and they are not concerned about you, your loved ones or anyone else. Look back at the murder down at the grand. Did these Criminals have legal guns ? Did they care who was in the lien of fire? Lastly, do you thin the weapons were registered??

Same. All of my lefty friends own guns as well. We're everywhere and most of us were raised with guns in our homes and taught a healthy respect. We oppose guns as a method of defense from people. Yes, for defense from animals for those of us in the boondocks but only when the dogs don't have the situation handled. For us, guns are a tool for acquiring food, and for target shooting. End of list. Our current laws are a pretty good balance of freedom and regulation. I do see a need for more regulation of handguns, especially in large cities, but that's the extent of anything that needs to be reviewed at this point.

Time to take all the handguns and assault rifles from these characters at large. PAL & RPAL exams way too easy. Should be annual exams, annual mental health assessment and zero tolerance for those holding hunting rifles.

This all ridiculous. So if you want to keep your hobby they are forcing you to move. Is this not discrimination? This kind of thing used happen to people based on their race. Where they did not want certain people to live in their neighborhood. If you have to move, should the city then be liable for moving expenses and finding you a new job for forcing you out? Criminals will just ignore these laws and the shootings will continue. Even if the bad guys cannot get handguns, they will use sawed-off rifles and shotguns and more people will die because they are more lethal than handguns. A black market will grow in handguns and then there will be no controls at all. This whole thing is irrational and rather unethical.

Imagine buying a new kitchen knife and then being stopped by police and then being charged because the court decided you didn't need a 3rd kitchen knife so you had no reason to buy it?

Or accidentally leaving a box cutter in your pocket after moving a friend? Good luck proving that you NEEDED a box knife to open boxes, why not just use a 3" or less knife?
