No garbage pick up?

Is there a delay in picking up garbage? Everyone on our street put their garbage out yesterday and it's still sitting there now. Was there a notice that garbage pick up is going to be delayed or is it simply that they forgot to do our street?

More than likely delayed...............our was yesterday too and still there this am, well most of it, some losers decided to take peoples recycling and garbage bags and throw them in the middle of the road

Recycling was supposed to be all picked up yesterday, and Garbage picked up Today, but who knows how many people still have hangovers and called in sick!

There was no garbage pick up on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Customers who normally were to have their garbage picked up those days were asked to put it out the Wednesdays instead.

That means the haulers had to pick up twice as much garbage on the Wednesdays, so no doubt they are a tad behind.

Our day is Wednesday and we put it out yesterday am. but was still there this am. Yes, I would think that they are doing double pick ups so not surprised they are late.

Next week the trash/recycling pick-up schedule will be back to normal...and to the delight of many parents and the dismay of many children...school will be back in session!!!

Our pick-up day is Wednesday, but pick-up was today.
I'm guessing yours will be tomorrow!!!

This just in (Friday morning) from the regional district:

Public Service Announcement

January 4, 2008:

Due to heavy volumes and icy road conditions garbage and recycling collection may be delayed

Due to heavy Christmas volumes and poor road conditions, some garbage and recycling collections are delayed. Residents whose garbage or recycling has not been collected should continue to leave it out for collection all of today and through the week-end. Crews will be working this Saturday and Monday to collect missed garbage and recycling.

For further information, call Waste Management of Canada at 861-8788.

Glad ours was picked up because being left out one extra night gave the little scum bags time to throw garbage cans over, take recycling bags and throw them on the road, etc.
