Many years ago I was out on a walk in early spring.
It was probably around 1 above freezing and the snow covered ground had a couple bare earth patches. Or so I thought at the time.
Some butterflies were actually flying around and landing on these bare patches and I photographed them. Posted them on a camera forum and had several nice comments on them. Not one person mentioned anything wrong about the pictures.
A few years later, I looked closely at these photos.
That is when I discovered, they weren't bare patches of earth.
More like bare patches of dog *bleep*
As disgusting as it was, I learned a good lesson from it.
That is you can often find something beautiful amongst something ugly.
