Sajjan to face censure over sexual misconduct

Post by Gone_Fishin »

This clown has got to go. He can take the lying sack of crap Justin Trudeau with him.

Covering up sexual assaults on women is egregious, but it seems the Liberals are just fine with it.

Hopefully, Parliament does the right thing for victims of sexual assaults and sends a strong message to Trudeau that this is not to be covered up and tolerated!

Sajjan faces House of Commons censure vote over handling of military sexual misconduct

Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan will face a vote Thursday in the House of Commons that seeks to condemn him for his handling of three files within his portfolio, including military sexual misconduct.

Conservative defence critic James Bezan has put forward a motion to censure Sajjan for his handling of allegations of sexual misconduct within the Canadian Forces as well as his handling of the court case against Vice-Adm. Mark Norman, the former chief of the defence staff, and Sajjan’s handling of the mission against ISIS. The motion also accuses Sajjan of “misleading Canadians about his service record” but does not provide specific examples.

Sajjan has faced repeated calls for his resignation over the last four-and-a-half months, primarily from military sexual misconduct survivors and victims, and defence industry experts who have argued the minister has failed to take sexual misconduct seriously within the Canadian Forces for years.

Those calls followed exclusive reporting by Global News on Feb. 2 that the former chief of the defence staff, Gen. Jonathan Vance, is facing allegations of inappropriate behaviour, which he denies.

The Canadian military is facing what experts call an institutional “crisis” over multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against senior leaders and a culture that experts have repeatedly said fosters “toxic” attitudes towards women and LGBTQ2 members.

I'm totally disappointed with this individual.

Firstly he was supposed to be a Police Officer. I still hold them to a higher standard then a civilian. I wonder what he did to leave Vancouver, well short of pension?? It would be interesting.

Then the total lies about his involvement, "On my first deployment to Kandahar in 2006, I was the architect of Operation Medusa where we removed 1,500 Taliban fighters off the battlefield … and I was proudly on the main assault.”

Now to see how he attempts to cover up the Military and their shady activity.

I think it would be in the best interest of the Liberal Government to cut all ties. He is nothing bu a waste of a position. He isn't very bright when you sit and listen to him.

Like most of the Liberal Ministers, he is in way over his head, and he is totally lost if anything strays from the script.

I think the whole Liberal party is in well over their head from the lowest form to the Prime Minister. It is more apparent each and every day !!

I was trying to think of one of the Liberal MP's that is doing their job and hit an absolute wall. Trudeau picked some of the worst of the worst and is getting rid of anyone who is close to efficient in their job. Sajjan should have been gone before he started and he is proving it beyond a doubt.

The only one you could even suggest was honorable and showed true integrity in the Liberal party was Jody Wilson-Raybould.

It would sure be nice to hear what the rest of the story was there.

Jody had the integrity to stand up for what was right and there was no way the Liberals were going to stand for that. It did not suit their crooked ways. Sajjan is a yes man and does what he is told because Trudeau is standing up for him. That proves he useless and is only there to do the parties bidding. A sure vote along party lines.

Several experts say Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan has lost all credibility when it comes to tackling sexual misconduct in the ranks.

The comments follow a report from The Canadian Press that one of Sajjan's military assistants was ordered suspended three years ago from the Vancouver Police Department for having had an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate.

Sajjan's office says the two men served together as senior officers in the same army reserve unit, but that neither the minister nor his staff knew about Maj. Greg McCullough's past and the military was responsible for hiring him to the position.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has previously defended Sajjan, who was already facing opposition calls to resign for his handling of sexual misconduct allegations involving senior commanders.

But Megan MacKenzie, an expert on military sexual misconduct at Simon Fraser University, says the latest revelation suggests the minister himself is part an "Old Boys network" where senior military officers protect each despite allegations of misconduct.

Charlotte Duval-Lantoine of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute says Sajjan has lost all moral authority when it comes to leading the type of change that is needed to eliminate inappropriate and criminal sexual behaviour in the ranks.

You just know Harjit and the lying sack of crap Justin Trudeau directed the military in this illegal collection of dirt on everyday Canadians.

These tactics dovetail perfectly with Trudeau's C-10 Censorship Law.

Sieg Heil!

Military violated rules by collecting information on Canadians, conducting propaganda during pandemic: report

Military commanders violated federal rules and acted without authority when they ordered intelligence teams to collect information on the public as well as use propaganda techniques against Canadians, top defence officials now admit.

Information was culled from social media accounts of members of the public in Ontario and data was compiled on peaceful Black Lives Matter gatherings. Military commanders also proceeded with a plan to use propaganda techniques employed during the Afghanistan war, claiming that was needed to head off civil disobedience by Canadians during the coronavirus pandemic.

Yet another review centred on the Canadian Forces public affairs branch and its activities. Last year the branch launched a controversial plan that would have allowed military public affairs officers to use propaganda to change attitudes and behaviours of Canadians as well as to collect and analyze information from the public’s social media accounts.
