I am in quarantine in the Richmond Marriott for up to 2 weeks. Unless I get tested positive then it could last longer.
If you have a minute, feel free to watch this video of my room and you will see things could be worse.

Thankfully I am not paying the bill, and my wages are even being covered while in quarantine.
To be fair, if I was a traveler on a budget there is no way I could afford this place.
I believe there are more affordable rooms here but they will still be expensive.

And here is the video of my Raven friend Gawlk

There is a chance I may be released from my prison cell earlier but wouldn't know until the health officials figure things out.

A bump for my new adventure.
If the mods can change the title to something like Adventures at Work it would be amazing

Anyway I am just starting a new summer job driving the transit bus on Hornby Island.

At the moment I am on the first ferry out of 3

After suffering through the heat wave with no AC at home I am truly enjoying the 22 degrees weather.

I should arrive on Hornby Island tomorrow, and enjoy the Canada Day festivities possibly without wearing a mask.

Training starts Friday. So I will enjoy my time off exploring.

I hope to share the experience through several amazing photos.

Not too many years ago a new ferry was put on the Buckley Bay to Denman Island run.
I believe it is cable operated which of course illicited the usual number of doom and gloom predictions. :panic:

And just down Island a few minutes, you will find Fanny Bay oysters.

You should be able to go into the first post and change it yourself. (I think) Give it a try.

This is the last thing you see on Denman Island before the last ferry

I am starting to feel at home already

Welcome to Hornby Island

And an old boat makes a nice sandbox for our inner child

I am meeting with one of my new bosses soon but plan on enjoying the day after that.

I'll give you a tip.
Don't call your hair colour white. It's called Arctic Blond.
Stu....You look like me and just about every other dude in our game....worn out saddle bag with eyes...aged 20 years beyond what we should be :130:
Eee gads, we have changed.
Heck, many decades ago in my single years I was in Honolulu and was
mistaken for Robert Redford. :smt045

Hard to believe that now. [icon_lol2.gif]

I never felt a day over 90 while driving trucks Trucker.
But then again I am 52.

So my boat and myself are no longer Salt Water Virgins.

As I told a friend, the Beluga has invaded the Hornby Island
Oh, my kayaks nickname is the Beluga.

I took a ride on the bus, and it's a nice easy route.
I think I will like it here.

Here’s wishing you well and all the best in your new environment. :130:
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Last night's sunset

A local beach today.

The formation of the sandstone cliffs is interesting

And if Mermaids exist I would think this is one of their resting places.

WOW.....What great photos!

Have you got your Scallop net yet?

Best time to catch them is right at sundown. Hide behind a big rock as close to the waterline as you can and wait for them to fly over, jump up and snag them out of the air mid-flight. Put them in a bucket with 6" of fresh sea water until you get home and shuck them.

Remember, only steam them with lemon juice and eat them fresh. Only catch what you can eat that day (max 6/day/big apatite adult). White wine and baguettes are perfect accompaniments.
Bring back the LIKE button.

I tried catching those Scallops Alan,
They sent their crab friend after me :200: [icon_lol2.gif]

I went out paddling today and for first time in my life I was sharing the water with something considerably bigger than most people.
I caught the interest of some Seals.
I was honestly nervous and headed cloer to shore but they choose to watch me and follow me from a distance.
I had to ask someone who told me they may swim close but will never bother me.

Just don't wear a black wetsuit...they might think you are another skinny seal. Or worse a Killer Whale might mistake you for one.
