My peppers are greening up (yay!) but they don't seem to be growing much. Leafing out, yes. Flowering, yes. Getting taller, nope. :135:

Ours are doing well. Looked at them yesterday and all 6 plants have at least 1 pepper which are about the size of a Baseball and dark green.

Beans are getting big and have flowers, Cukes are showing, Peas are flowering etc.

The only thing not doing well are the Beets. There are so many weeds around them we can't hardly find them.

I bought everbearing strawberries today and now for my rain gutter planting method. I looked up five youtube vids on strawberries in rain gutters, gleaned out ideas on how to plant. Already have the gutter and soil, so good to go.

Also, more petunias, red, for my red/yellow theme. :D
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Looking forward to seeing your gutter berries, QK

When they are in containers you will need to water them every day, I do mine first thing in the morning. And I plant them in the garden to overwinter them, then replant into the baskets/railing planters in the spring.

I have spaghetti squash forming! Also a tomato! I have flowers on my poor sad peppers, no peppers as of yet. Bsuds, I am jealous.

Beans are doing very well. Cukes are okay, and my bok choi bolted :-X

I have peppers forming! The plants are tiny, but at least I have peppers. :130:

Beans are doing great - pole beans are around 4 ft now

My garden is taking a beating from the heat.

Squash, blueberries, garlic, peas, and dahlias which we planted for the first time, are all suffering. Much of the new growth has turned brown.
So frustrating.

I feel the same way. I have never had such a horrible multiple crop failure.

My lettuces are about to bolt, green beans are fried, spuds “seem” ok, carrots growth stalled… Toms ok as i laid out heavy plastic over the root areas, only have 4 of 20 cuc plants left (quail, earwigs and drought pretty well cleaned them out). Zuc stalled, acorn squash seems to be ok for now.

I suppose we will have huge increases in prices of produce to look forward to, not that they aren’t high enough.

What really hurt was my hosta plant in its container and then placed inside a big ceramic vase out on north facing balcony. Looked gorgeous, big healthy leaves, two flower stalks ready to bloom, watered and fed daily….now fried to death in two hours of sunlite. Bleedin’ vase was so hot I couldn’t touch it. Man, we need a cool down with rain, and soon.

It is the worst garden in 50 years of growing one.

Oh well, maybe in 2022
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

my bestie in Edmonton spent a small fortune planting his balcony ( he has a huge one and every year goes overboard.
Even with watering his stuff is dying, he says looks like they were deep fried. He's so disappointed, all that work and money for naught

Our garden seems to be holding it's own. It is in shade part of the morning and that must be helping.

sucks about your hosta plant Cats..I have lost 3 plants so far...literally cooked to death during this hell spell...my peppers probably won't make it but my tomato plant seems to be hanging in there..all the flowers on my clematis are fried ( this yr started as it's best yr yet too) but all my tropical plants are loving this heat...got 2 palms that have been directly in this sun for most of the day and they just laugh at this heat...and my boston ferns are huge, but they are in very shady areas
