Length x width x height equals cubic feet but what is not being accounted for is the thickness of the walls and the base. Take the measurements from inside the unit.

24 inches x 24 inches x 31 inches = 17,856 cubic inches

Using this converter

Above....? Did you not say 24 inches x 24 inches x 31 inches = 17,856 cubic inches? Ahh geezzz am I screwing up feet and inches again? I am so tired tonight and my brain is not working at full capacity, it’s scary enough when it is! Lol.
But I would be shocked to find out that mine is 10 cubic feet. It is one of the smallest apartment sized chest freezers you can buy. If not the smallest. When I look up the measurements for even a 5.5 cubic foot, the width measurements are around 33 inches. ( vary slightly) I just wanted one that’s a bit bigger than the one I have now. But I don’t know the cubic feet of the one I have now. Maybe I’m having a bad week, but I swear I didn’t go through this kind of hassle when I bought my homes in the past. Or maybe because I was younger, it just seemed that way. Funny how everything seems like such a hassle as you age. Maybe I should have stuck with my hubby, men can come in handy at times. So when they give you the measurements for depth, that means the inside? But when they give measurements for height it’s the outside?

The outside measurements are important when you ae trying to figure out if it will fit in your space. The inside measurements matter for storage capacity.

Why are you still discussing it?

I've pulled the manual by the model number and it clearly states 5.3 cub feet.

I follow your questions and the answers that follow. Why doesn't the tag have the information?

Beats me. Apparently it is there somewhere in that mumble jumble of letters and numbers. So the guy at CF told me.

Binky, check out the Arctic King 3.5 cubic foot freezer at Walmart - link below. Width and depth should fit through your patio doors.
