Birth Stories

Post by JLives »

Well I've got one more week to go before the scheduled C-section on the 18th so I thought what better time to gross all the guys out with our stories. :12077:

How many women on here have Cesarians? How many natural? How close did you come to your due date? Did you have the baby on the taxi ride over?

I had four children in a 5 year 4 month time span. All 4 born naturally. First one (girl) was two weeks late and put me through 18 hours of back labour because she wanted to come out face up. Just about had to have a section but she decided to turn over at the last minute. The second (a boy) was 10 days early and blessed me with a wonder 5 1/2 hour easy labour. The third (another girl) was also two weeks late and arrived after a hour and a half of intense labour. The fourth (another boy) arrived a week early but was in a real hurry to get out only after 45 minutes of labour. I was really worried that we were going to have him on the lawn of the hospital but we made it just in time.

Good luck on your 'birthday'. Praying for a safe and healthy outcome for you and your babe.

My Mom didnt have any Cesarians. 2 still born and three live births.
There was a little problem with my sister. After having taken her and my Mom home my sister's 'knot' came undone and she nearly bled out.
I'm told that my Grandmother kept her in the oven to recover. Funny ideas back then.

I had one with my first because she was breech. This one is optional. I chose to have it because I have the scar, know the risks and what to expect and I'm also getting fixed at the same time.

Funny!! You know what's broken! :12077:

All mine were easy; no c-sections with any of them. The 1st one was 14 hours of labour and the rest of them were 3 hours of labour. In fact one of them was almost born in the van when coming into KGH. That was one chaotic birth I ever had.

Have two children. First, 8lbs 2oz with 40hrs labour, gave birth naturally and thought I was going to die. Thought it might be easier second time so along came number two....ten days late, 9lbs 10.5oz!! Yup, again naturally..baby got broken clavicle in process.

My ovaries are now hung up in the locker room because I'M DONE!!!
Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.

three children, ggb, 8-11, 8-15, 9-6, all naturally, fairly fast labours. A week late, on time, and two weeks late (we think). Watched a C section on one of the educational channels, was absolutely amazed.
It's like waiting for a package to arrive in the mail. Except you know when the postman's gonna show up. Wishing you all the best!

My daughter was (and still routinely is) late! She was 11 days overdue, and when she finally arrived after being induced, it wasn't that bad at all, even though I was in the hospital in and out of labour for 12 hrs, but in the end, transition was 45 min and she was born with no pain managment 1.5 hrs later weighing in at 8lbs 2oz.

There's a lot more to the whole story, but meh... not required.

One boy born 6 lbs 14 oz after 7 1/2 hours of labour. Nurses thought it'd be closer to 13 or 14 hrs because I was progressing so slowly, then all of a sudden, boom, 10 cm ready to go. I didn't get an epidural because the anethesiologist was busy in the OR, so it was natural pain. About an hour of solid pushing with a little scare at the end when baby's heartrate dropped and they brought in a bunch of other doctors/pediatricians and talked seriously about an emergency C-section. In the end he came out pink and screaming and turned out fine!

I'm hoping this second one goes smoother with no scare at the end like that!

Good luck Jenny! Post pictures when you can! :)
