Today I had the opportunity to clean up some of my garden beds - yay! It was cool enough, I had the time, and I got it done before the smoke got bad :130:

I harvested garlic, kohlrabi and some spaghetti squash; and my MIL picked beans and chard :)
I haven't failed until I quit.

Another plague to deal with. ^^^

I abandoned my garden plot. First time ever in my life.

This was not the year for my high hopes.

Maybe 2022?

No way!

I think some of my strawberries have been cooked. They looked terribly wilted - gave them water, stat. Not loving the water restrictions.

Aphids on kale! :200:

We grew three types of kale this year. All were new to us. Two we didn't care for but the bugs did.
The other one, the bugs left alone, until now.

I picked some today and the under sides of the leaves are covered with whitish aphids.
Any suggestions?
And no, I don't need anyone telling me Oh, that's just a little protein. :swear:

A soap spray usually works.

I use a product called "Pink Solution" You can get it online or a couple of times a year at Costco they have a booth set up. It is excellent for all kinds of cleaning and is environmentally friendly. It's concentrated and you mix it with water to whatever strength you want. I got the bucket and it's still almost full and I have had it for several years.

I have a car washing wand that attaches to a hose and it has a soap dispenser on it. I have used it to spray Aphids on out Maple tree. It works well.

I have used it to wash my RV too.

I am over-run with ripe tomatoes and the 3rd plant hasn't even started to produce yet.
