No it's the brain dead Canadians that decided to push their luck by gambling that the Taliban wouldn't take over Afghanistan as fast as they did.
So we are in agreement, the Liberals are "brain dead Canadians". Awesome!!

The Liberals are trash that don't deserve a vote from any Canadian anywhere. So glad that you agree!!! The Liberals just plain suck!!

But, but, they did nothing wrong, it's the governments fault that they are stupid!

Yes. Justin, you brain-dead idiot..
Why did you push our luck and gamble that the Taliban wouldn't take over Afghanistan as fast as they did?

I don't think people of Afghanistan really care what bombs are killing them - Conservative or liberal. Canada was involved in the war, Canada is responsible for refugees.

We as tax payers are responsible for our govt actions regardless of which party is in power, what party failed, and what govt pulled out.

Don't want refugees? Stay out of wars. Stop being US lapdog.

Trudeau obviously didn't know what was happening in Afghanistan over the past few weeks, when the situation was deteriorating and our government should have been encouraging Canadians to make their way home safely.

He was caught flat-footed. As usual. Too busy figuring out whether or not it was a good time for his party to benefit from a snap election.

This is Trudeau to a T, and I'm not surprised to see who is making excuses for him. Again. This has nothing to do with the military or 2014.

Our government failed in its responsibility to the Canadians who should have left over the past few weeks, were told to go to Kabul and are now trapped in Afghanistan. Failed. That's on Trudeau. His government, his failure. Oh, but now he's offering to take refugees who have gotten out...
You nailed it Rustled. Justin the man child failed Canada and their allies yet again. Is anyone surprised by this? Justin is trash that needs to be kicked to the curb
No one should be surprised.

People who don't seem to understand why the Canadian government should fulfill their responsibilities to Canadians and Canadian allies will make excuses, though - as usual, they are excusing Trudeau for not having the wherewithal or the integrity to take his responsibilities as prime minister - to Canadians or our allies - seriously.

Promising to take refugees doesn't make up for his failure.

Turdeau is a pampered Nancy, he could never understand having his life depend on the support of another, nor could he understand that that relationship is always mutual.

Queen K wrote: Aug 15th, 2021, 10:22 am The shocking speed at which Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban shows us that years spent there has been a giant wasted hole of money for the West. That the Taliban is a blood thirsty theocracy that no one can control, even their own people, that the President fled for his life so fast, has shown us this.

Yes accept the translators, bring them out of life threatening situations becasue the educated are shot first, the people who are labeled collaborators are shot first, that happened in France too, once the Nazis were defeated. But I can't wrap my head around one thing: housing.

I am trying to reconcile the housing situation in the Okanagan with multiple people not finding affordable homes for their families with bringing in 20,000 people just like that. Every single day people are begging for housing. Posting their photos and basically allowing landlords to shop on looks.

The growing homeless includes normal families unable to convince their landlords not to sell and kick them out.

Where are 20,000 people going to live? WHERE?

Saskatchewan? Manitoba? Where else has depopulation issues?

Seriously I feel sick about the thought of what, where and how this will be settled.

I have always questioned, why is Canada and USA even being involved?? ?The USA trained these fighters, armed these fighters and now are fighting them. HMMM... not my fight stay out of their country.

Do we need more immigrants to support at this time??? Vote him out!

Is this not about taking in refugees from Afghanistan? What part of that doesnt JT understand about that?......especially when we havent been there since 2014. At least these refugees are in recognition of that fact we went over there and meddled in their business. I'm actually surprised more of the usual anti-immigration, anti-refugee crowd isnt over here whining about how much it's going to cost to take care of them for a while. Of course, I'm sure those that do later will be the same peeps criticizing JT for his "non-action" now.

So the idiot Justin has had six years to get the translators out of Afghanistan and didn't lift a finger. For shame Justin, you giant piece of human garbage.
First off, we have not been "in Afghanistan" at all for 7 years. So start with a base of facts for change.

I know you want to play politics with this, but it isn't a political thing. Seeing as you are so critical how about you give a plan that is doable with zero troops on the ground, no aircraft there, a few embassy staff - and advise how you knew that Afghanistan would fall so quickly to the Taliban..

Yup, all "western" nations got caught by surprise by the speed of the Taliban takeover and teh Afghan government forces just melting away. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-17/ ... /100382524https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... er-holiday and yup, even the normally organized Angela Merkel got caught by surprise: https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-paci ... 021-08-16/

You can keep doing down the list, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki of Poland, Macron of France, .....

And consider this:

"Afghanistan’s U.N. ambassador says “there is no time for the blame game anymore.” He is urging the Security Council and secretary-general to use every means at their disposal to call for an immediate halt to violence and respect for human rights and to “prevent Afghanistan descending into a civil war and becoming a pariah state.”"

This is a human tragedy of very large scale and it is chaotic. Reports are that at least 600,000 Afghan people have been displaced by the Taliban fighting. How do you even find the specific people you are trying to help?

A US veterans organizer was saying the only way to do is to send troops back in there, set up "safe zones" all over the place and let folks come in. BUT, how do you tell friend from foe?? Would the Taliban infiltrate bombers? etc. etc. It is a logistical Gordion knot. And that's the best "plan" I have heard.

So what's your plan GB?
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

Of course it's political.

It's ridiculous to pretend it's ok for the Canadian government not to know what was happening in Afghanistan, while Canadians were asking what to do - to the extent these Canadians were told "go to Kabul and the embassy will help you" - you're making excuses.

Whether the Trudeau government relied some other country's intelligence or not, they are the Canadian government. They failed the Canadians who are in Afghanistan, because they were too incompetent at their job, or too busy, or too indifferent - probably all three - to understand what was happening while the US troops were pulling out of Afghanistan. It's utter malarky to pretend otherwise.

So spill it out, what do you think JT should have done more?............got on a plane to Afganistan and personally escorted the refugees onto the plane? Why were we over there in the first place? Who was the dummy that put us there in the first place?
I can tell you JT got elected a year after we left Afy so it wasnt him. Why not blame the brain dead guy that put us there in the first place? Oh yeah, he's your guy [icon_lol2.gif]
