"Afghanistan’s U.N. ambassador says “there is no time for the blame game anymore.” He is urging the Security Council and secretary-general to use every means at their disposal to call for an immediate halt to violence and respect for human rights and to “prevent Afghanistan descending into a civil war and becoming a pariah state.”"

This is a human tragedy of very large scale and it is chaotic. Reports are that at least 600,000 Afghan people have been displaced by the Taliban fighting. How do you even find the specific people you are trying to help?

A US veterans organizer was saying the only way to do is to send troops back in there, set up "safe zones" all over the place and let folks come in. BUT, how do you tell friend from foe?? Would the Taliban infiltrate bombers? etc. etc. It is a logistical Gordion knot. And that's the best "plan" I have heard.

So what's your plan GB?
I can't speak for GB, but I can tell you my "plan" would NOT be "dissolve parliament so I can try for a majority".

I know you want to play politics with this, but it isn't a political thing. Seeing as you are so critical how about you give a plan that is doable with zero troops on the ground, no aircraft there, a few embassy staff - and advise how you knew that Afghanistan would fall so quickly to the Taliban..

So what's your plan GB?

Vote out the brain-dead puppet actor Justin Trudeau, send him back to being a drama teacher, bring in adults to once again run this country that for six years has been turned into an international laughingstock, and start to do what we have to do to erase the burden imposed on our children, grand children, and great grandchildren, by this agglomeration of imbeciles in the current Liberal government.

That's my plan.

Kick out the scum and rot in our current Canadian government. And go from there. It's really that simple.

Clearly apparent that no one has ever saved your bacon
So spill it out, what do you think JT should have done more?............got on a plane to Afganistan and personally escorted the refugees onto the plane? Why were we over there in the first place? Who was the dummy that put us there in the first place?
I can tell you JT got elected a year after we left Afy so it wasnt him. Why not blame the brain dead guy that put us there in the first place? Oh yeah, he's your guy [icon_lol2.gif]
Just can't answer that, a debt of honour you could never understand, if you didn't live in your parent's basement, you might understand what it is to hang someone out to die.

It's not JT's war. Canadians pulled out in Harper's time. He actually turned from a hawk to a little dove taking us out of Afghanistan in 2014. So there is no Clancy like debt of honour in this case for JT although he's doing that as a nation when he graciously takes in those 20,000 refugees for our involvement in their war.

I don't live in a basement and you know what they say about lost debates......

Only issue I have is that the Canadian Government fully vets/investigates each of those 20,000 individuals.

Wouldn’t want a numerous Taliban entering our country.

We won't get 20,000 Afghan refugees. It's way to late.
The UN estimates there are over 40,000 foreigners there that have to be rescued, many of whom are charity workers and NGOs.

Justin made this promise of bringing to Canada 20,000, their families here were optimistic, now they been horribly let down.

And those left behind that will suffer the most? Women.

That's not a plan. It does zero to affect the situation in Afghanistan.

Which is my main point, the critics have no clue. Those that do have plans are ones that have great challenges involved, and risk drawing the US and all of its NATO allies right back into Afghanistan. The Afghan military seems to have nothing for real leadership. The only thing the Taliban respect is a bigger gun pointed at their heads. I fear that "we" might get drawn back in.

I see Germany has cut off aid funding for Afghanistan. Tough choice. I understand that Merkel doesn't want to fund the Taliban, but it is regular Afghans that will suffer. Realistically, unless NATO wants to go back in and kick the Taliban out, not much choice but to cut off funding. Germany is planning to make room for Afghan refugees though.

Unfortunately the CCP are making moves to recognize the Taliban as "legitimate". That's unfortunate. One less border for refugees to cross.

The UN is warning of a developing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and serious refugee problems in neighboring countries as people flee the butchers of the Taliban. We should at least make plans to deal with some of that and accepting a share of 20,000 is a start, but could pale in face of numbers that could arise. We have seen this movie before...Syria, Vietnam...
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

So you've taken a post I made to illustrate the great humanitarian nature of Canada and turned it into a forum for you to spread your dislike for our duly elected leader
I for one don't need your help

The old adage about keeping quite and having everyone guessing or opening your mouth and proving beyond doubt to everyone seems appropriate here.
I hope Justine Trudeau and his party lead this country for the next twenty years. Now you know my opinion and I know yours no need to talk anymore
