Anyhow thought there might be someone else who wants the CC size - $10 and tax
You may want to have a plastic envelope (like an ID badge) instead of lamination. A lot of official documents are not to be laminated. YMMV.

Most gov't/official documents shouldn't be laminated as it makes it hard to see if the document is a fake/altered in any way. As discussed in this thread, the QR code does that in and of itself, lamination is fine if you want a paper copy.

If you are ordering an alcoholic beverage the venue can ask to see your ID anyway, Yes, at any age.

I recall in the states at sporting events for some legal reason they require everyone to produce ID, 21 years old or 91. I saw a BC DL with a grommet in it and asked. The owner of the DL said he keeps his DL on a lanyard at the US games for easy of showing his ID. I guess watching the game was secondary to the drinking for him.

Typical government produce a document to show to venues that won't fit in a wallet.

The government ? or the passports ? [icon_lol2.gif]

If we don't, as a society smarten up, a long time.

Also governments, such as Alberta's provincial government, can't play politics with these rules. Yes, nobody wants the Covid regulations, but removing them prematurely to garner brownie points isn't governing and when it costs lives it's completely irresponsible.

Governing is like parenting. Saying no is part of the job. But part of the big picture.

Sadly I don't think that concept will sink in with the likes of the anti-vax protestors.

If I was an employer and one of my employees was involved in any of those protests, I would seriously be concerned with their ability to make wise informed decisions in other areas.

If we end up with booster shots being included and if COVID drags out til the end of 2022, never. The passports will become more official and be used to track other vaccinations.

Argue if you want but I'll just go back and find posts of all the naysayers who said mandatory vaccines would never become a thing.

The main argument will be if everything is left in place and people keep their vaccine passports then the next pandemic will be handled quicker.

The longer the anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers and anti lizard people keep up with their shenanigans the more likely that will be turn out to be true. So ironic these "freedom fighters" are the ones mostly responsible for our loss of freedoms. Even more ironic is that it is the people who do get vaccinated who will deservedly be able to start enjoying more freedoms.

You forgot about other countries. By your standards if the whole world isn't vaccinated were screwed.

I've read (OK speed-read) all the posts from Sept. 13, but got a problem I haven't seen addressed here.

I don't have much "data" on my android cellphone, so I got on the computer and accessed my vax passport. When the photo of the vaccine passport appeared on my computer screen, I thought I was being smart and took a picture of it with my cellphone, storing it on my photo gallery.
Well, when I showed that picture and my DL to the restaurant greeter the other day, she said "this doesn't work", yet my friend's cellphone (with data) obviously worked.
She let me in anyway after I offered to show her my two-dates vaccine wallet card from the health dept.

So I thought I'd try again, this time using my limited-data cellphone, accessing my vaccine passport at the gov't site, and it wouldn't bring anything up. Presume that's to prevent fraud, as it had already been "requested" by me days ago. I can't remember what it said exactly, something like "not available".

The site DID say that printing a paper copy of the vaccine passport would be always accepted everywhere, as long as no folds were made in the QR portion. I haven't tried using that at a restaurant yet.

Yes, I'm a computer dinosaur BUT...
(and then there's my husband, who doesn't have a cellphone).

A photo of a QR from a screen might not work because you're taking picture of pixels. Screen refresh might be captured by your phone which is taking an instantaneous shot, resulting in missing or distorting the code.

Taking a picture of a printout would have a better chance of working, but better would be to download it with your phone connected to wifi and take a screen shot of that (power button plus volume down usually).

You raise some good points. I'm not a computer dinosaur but when I obtained my QR code, I had concerns that others would have trouble.

I expected I could access my Vax Passport over and over if required. But as you say one apparently can not. I just tried to re-load my Vax Passport on the government site and got "Not Found". Of course being the government there was lots and lots of helpful hints to walk you through any problems N O T  ! Wouldn't a warning be in order ?? WARNING YOU MAY ONLY ACCESS YOUR VAX PASSPORT ONE TIME.

Fortunately it was just a test to respond to your post.

I loaded mine, last week, a few days ahead of the requirement date of this Monday. At the time I thought it would have been a great idea for there to be some way to check that the Vax Passport actually worked. Thinking that if the first time I needed to use it, lets say for an important dinner with friends and finding out it didn't work. As it turned out I dropped into a pub with a buddy on Monday and found that it worked.
