Whining about losing an election, insisting the winner actually lost, and bringing unsubstantiated claims about foreign interference causing a win for the liberals in 12 ridings is about as Trumpist as one can get.

Some morons can’t put two and two together and arrive at the simple fact that the nutcase faction of their claimed political party is both where they reside and is the reason for the loss. It’s a head shaker.

While I have continued to look for information on the "transcendent twelve" the ridings that changed the election, I found this interesting article. It basically outlines the "grumbles" related to the election. I have not been able to identify the transcendent twelve but this article did outline a relevant change in the CPC voting pattern in this election.

Noted Alberta politics nerd Paul Fairie charted how the provincial share of the Tory vote changed in 2021 as compared to 2019. He found that Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada all turned out in greater numbers for the Tories, while the party lost support across Western Canada. The effect was most dramatic in Alberta. Although the Conservatives retained a solid blue wall of seats in Wild Rose Country, their share of the vote plunged by a dramatic 13 per cent.

Like many things that don’t entirely make sense to the rest of the country, Monday’s Liberal victory can be blamed almost entirely on Toronto. Redditor garry-oak did an analysis of how Canadian metro areas voted in the 2021 election, and found that Toronto was the most Liberal city in Canada, with nearly 50 per cent of its vote share going to Team Red. The Liberals swept almost all of the 50 ridings in the Greater Toronto Area, making the city the core of their 158-seat caucus. The most NDP city was Victoria, and Regina ranked as the most Conservative.


According to 2019 statistics the five metropolitan areas with the largest Chinese Canadian populations are the Greater Toronto Area (631,050), Metro Vancouver (474,655), Greater Montreal (89,400), and the Calgary Region (89,675). If we are to believe that there was significant CPC disruption in these areas, which contain ridings with large Chinese/Canadian population then the observations of The Nerd are contradictory. Tory/CPC support increased in Ontario, and Quebec, areas with high Chinese/Canadian populations. While the CPC lost,support in western Canada. There they lost 13% support mainly to parties which were farther to the right.

The Liberals winning 50% of the GTA ridings indicates that the CPC platform did not register with urban votes and this is in a province with a strong conservative provincial government. The CPC GTA results cannot be to attributed foreign interference. However, if anyone can help me find the transcendent twelve ridings, perhaps we can clearly put the election question to rest. If there is anything more to this accusation than anecdotal reports and partisan complaining, I would expect that within the next two weeks, the RCMP would make an announcement. If there is no announcement, then you know the extent of the "actual" foreign influence.
