So, will the CBC bother to pursue this angle?

The people have spoken.

What should happen to the CBC's federal funding?

Total Votes: 13314
Increase it 16.33%
Keep it the same 22.45%
Decrease it 9.85%
Eliminate it 43.68%
Unsure 7.69%

Where did the money go? How many of Trudeau's wealthy friends plumped their wallets this time?

Throwing our money to Trudeau's friends in the media must stop.

Overseers of $50 million local journalism subsidy won’t say how money was distributed

Image

The media associations trusted with overseeing the Liberal government’s $50 million subsidy for local journalists are unable to provide the exact amount dozens of legacy media outlets received under the taxpayer-funded program.

Among the mainstream media outlets participating in the subsidized hiring program are Canada’s National Observer, the Chronicle Herald, the Narwhal, the Tyee and Nunatsiaq News.

Last week, officials with the Department of Canadian Heritage told True North they did not keep records of the salaries, positions or outlets of the journalists hired on the public’s dime under the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI). Instead, the government tasked seven “administrator organizations” to select who would be receiving the subsidy intended for hiring local journalists and paying freelance reporters.

To track down how much each outlet exactly received as part of these grants to fund journalists at the expense of taxpayers, True North reached out to the above groups.

None of these administrator organizations was able to provide a complete list that included the outlet, positions created, and amount paid.

News Media Canada LJI Director Tina Ongkekok pointed to the group’s website which features a guide of “2021 Host News Organizations.” The list includes the names of the outlets and the created positions, but makes no mention how much each received in funding.

Additionally, although the program has been in operation since at least 2018, News Media Canada did not respond to further questions about funding recipients from past years.

Similarly, True North was also directed by the Community Radio Fund of Canada to a list of radio stations that received funding through the LJI. While the list names the 28 stations which received public funds, there is virtually no information about how much was distributed and what kind of positions were hired on the public dime.

Further attempts to receive more detailed information from the Community Radio Fund of Canada about the exact amount distributed in subsidies went unanswered.

Does CBC see the writing on the wall?
Even Aaron Wherry, Trudeau's favourite CBC lackey, has come out questioning Trudeau's election call.

Justin and his party of "Do as we say, not as we do" boys and girls is getting crucified on CBC. Or as one person called it, XiBC.

Some of the better comments.
Still plenty of time for JT to come out as non-binary.

Put a Liberal sign on your lawn I can see the paint ball guns coming out, they aren't prohibited yet under Trudeau's faux "crime & gun control".
Here is a newly developed category by these liberals. " Birthing person." Seriously...?

Good News!! Freeland assures us the Canadian mint is fully stocked on ink and paper! We are in great shape. Don Pittis agrees.
The National Anthem no longer read “We stand on guard for thee” It now reads “Come across and live for free”

And on and on it goes.
Plenty of comments that would be very humourous if not so scary.

In the above article from XiBC, it is titled
“Liberal Party releases multibillion-dollar election platform for post-pandemic recovery”

Then the first line all by itself says,
'Erin O'Toole can't offer the leadership we need,' Justin Trudeau

Nice plug for the Liberals, XiBC.

I was commenting on XiBC today, on the story regarding NHL players being permitted to play in the Beijing Olympics.
I stated "Never forget The Two Michaels".

It was deleted. :cuss:

Jordan Peterson nailed it with his opinion on the CBC and on C-10, the internet tax and censor bill that was being pushed by Trudeau’s Censorship Czar, Steven Guilbeault, a goofball who was so busy being arrested for dangling himself from the CN tower and bloviating about how everyone should "pay their fair share," he couldn’t find time to pay his own taxes.
I have a million more YouTube subscribers than our national broadcaster CBC. So does that make me a broadcaster to be regulated by Trudeau's pathetic minions? Or does it just indicate that CBC is a failure, despite the fortune it takes in in public subsidy?

CBC, your heavily subsidized but once admired and credible state broadcaster is now ideologically addled, propagandistic, outdated and increasingly despised or ignored. And now you dare to extend your incompetent governance to other media forms?
The biggest problem of censorship is that it tends to be the last resort of the ideologically arrogant and intellectually lazy … A day spent in defense of freedom of speech is a day spent in the company of bigots and hate mongers. – Omid Malekan

Yup, I unfortunately watched the first show of the new season last evening. This Hour used to be excellent, they would pick apart and lampoon all sides fairly and equally, with an obvious comic bent.. If last evening was any indication of the upcoming season, it’s going to be a sad end to what was once one of the very few shows worth watching on CBC. The entire episode last evening was nothing more than an attempt to promote wokeism, and to outright attack the PPC, the CPC and the Greens, yet they did give a positive shout out to Singh and the NDP. Surprisingly they never said anything in regards to Trudeau, in past seasons they definitely would’ve had skits and commentary in regards to the outright waste of time and money for calling an unnecessary election, the fact that they didn’t critique Trudeau’s unnecessary election is very telling of the shows new direction. In past seasons they didn’t hold back punches, they lampooned all the political party’s equally, but now that 2/3 of the cast are new to the show, and blatantly “racialised Canadians”, the show has taking a new direction..
Also concerning the CBC, all last season the show Family Feud Canada tried to be woke by having at least one racialised family per episode, fair enough… But, on this season’s first episode which aired on Monday, there was not only the expected racialised family on one side, the other said had a white family, but to be fully over the top politically correct and woke, one of the members of the white family was a 6’4” 300 pound transvestite ….
The CBC needs to be gotten rid of, the taxpayers that primarily fund the network should not be subjected to the government using the network as a platform to push a certain political ideology.

Is Rosie Barton the new executive producer of 22 Minutes?

The CBC is like that old, moldy sandwich in the back of the fridge. Someone has to chuck it out.
