Climate activists around the world are planning a Global Day of Action to “hold big banks accountable for funding fossil fuel expansion.”

On Oct. 29, demonstrations will be held in small and large cities around the world and Vernon climate activists are looking to hold one locally.

Climate change activists say Canada’s Day of Action is being coordinated by Leadnow and will focus on the largest bank and one of the nation’s largest funders of the fossil fuel industry, The Royal Bank of Canada.

The Vernon climate change activists are looking for volunteers to help organize a demonstration locally.

The intent for these demonstrations is to tell the “truth about Canadian Institutional banking and by taking on the biggest bank, to push for the defunding of fossil fuel infrastructure and development.”
https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#348454

1. Anyone reading this still think that this whole man-made climate change myth as anything to do with "climate"? Of course not, this is about communism, through and through. "The truth about Canadian institutional banking" - these idiots can't do basic math, so no, they won't know anything about "institutional banking". They don't even know what that term means.

2. Do these people understand that without capital being invested in oil and gas exploration, we are all going to starve and/or freeze to death? Look at what is going on in Europe right now. Because of idiots like this and weak governments in Europe, there are going to be deaths this winter from people freezing to death. This isn't a game anymore, these scum are actually killing people now.

There shouldn't be demonstrations against vaccinations, there should be demonstrations against people this stupid being allowed to tell such disgusting bald-faced lies.
I wonder if the idiots showing up to protest the big banks for funding fossil fuel expansion realise that just about all the clothing they wear, essentially everything except pure cotton, silk, wool and leather, are all derived from oil.. All man made materials used for clothing, upholstery, flooring, footwear, outdoor sporting equipment such as kayaks, and balls for every type of sports etc are all derived from oil. And nearly all household chemicals, cleaning supplies and fertilisers are all derived from oil, including the so called “green products”..
Certain oil will eventually be phased out for energy purposes, but it’s completely brain-dead ignorant to think that oil exploration, expansion and extraction will ever end since there’s nothing to replace it with.. And before someone says that industrial grade oil can be made from hemp, it needs to be pointed out that to produce that volume of hemp oil would require replacing 95% of the land used to grow the world’s food crops to grow that volume of hemp.

Here's another example of the sensationalist fake news that CNN likes to sell. "Rapidly dropping" - Lake Mead is currently 15 feet below 2019 levels. The level is controlled by the Hoover Dam. Could there be other factors at play here? But the bigger picture - why is the laughing hyena Kamala going to Lake Mead to sell fairy tales, and not going to the border to witness an actual, real crisis?? Talk about so useless and so stupid, but that's the man-made climate change fairy tale.

Seriously, who is dumb enough to fall for this nonsense?

Oh no!
Oh man, I'm so dumb that I've fallen, and I'm so useless and stupid that I can't reach my :panic: button?
But it's so easy how hard that people are being conned by this fraud. It's right there! This was why 80 million ballots had to be harvested, so that a government could be put in place in the US to continuing pushing this fraudulent "theory". And as the headline indicates, the media is complicit. It's just so gross.

Here's a perfect example of why the Paris Accords are just so dumb. Enviro-nuts in Sweden managed to get their main cement plant shut down, due to the apocalyptic fairy tale of man-made climate change. But what these people don't get is, their cement has to come from somewhere. So you'd rather have your cement coming from plants with much worse "emissions"? How freaking dumb are you enviro-lunatics??
How green champion Sweden could end up exporting its carbon sins

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - When a Swedish court ordered the country's biggest cement maker to stop mining limestone by its huge factory on the windswept island of Gotland to prevent pollution, ecologists cheered.

Besides protecting wildlife and water supplies, the ruling could force the plant that makes 75% of Sweden's cement and is the country's second biggest carbon emitter to slash output while it finds raw materials elsewhere, or even shut altogether.

That might be good for Sweden's emissions targets, but not such good news for the rest of the planet.

A government-commissioned report seen by Reuters said it could force Sweden to import cement from countries that pump out more emissions in the overall manufacturing process - or risk massive job losses in the construction industry at home.

"Imports from countries outside the EU would probably lead to larger environmental impacts as a result of lower standards related to CO2 emissions and lower standards in land use," the report, obtained via a freedom of information request, said.

Sweden's dilemma encapsulates one the challenges facing nations meeting in Glasgow for the U.N. COP26 climate talks: how to show they are not cutting emissions by simply exporting the problem elsewhere - a phenomenon known as "carbon leakage".

Nick Zenter from Central Washington University is a great lecturer. He really explains the geologic and earth science very well. My take away is what the earth has gone through throughout its history. You get a real perspective of time with his lectures. It appears too that volcanic action does play a role in climate change. Such as huge basalt floods that cover enormous areas, covering and killing all below. Interesting stuff,

Too dumb to understand what this might mean relative to the above.
What it means is that Sweden will have to get their cement elsewhere, which isn't going to save any "carbon emissions" (if you are dumb enough to care about such things) and instead have more emissions. These enviro-lunatics, by thinking that they are helping, are instead just causing more pain to the world. As is always the case. Their inability to see consequences of bad decisions all in the name of a warm tummy is causing things to be worse. If you honestly believe in this nonsense in the first place.

Sadly, that does nothing to answer my original question, so I'll make sure it's still out there.
Honestly, your question makes no sense. Read the article, enough with the deliberate obfuscation. The Paris Accords are dumb. Just beyond dumb.

Still, of course I'm a dumb, obfuscating lunatic for wanting to know.
This is just pure obfuscation, but we all get it. When you apply logic, reason and math to the Paris Accords, as demonstrated by that story about the Swedish cement plant, the Paris Accords are just plain dumb. Babble on about "fly ash" all you want, but the reality is, enviro-lunatics are causing, once again, far more harm than good. And no one should be surprised by this. Over the course of this entire fraud, all the world has seen has been trillions wasted, all in the name of a stupid fairy tale.

So first we have this:
Plans for global fossil fuel production wildly out of step with climate limits

World governments plan to produce fossil fuels at more than double the rate consistent with warming of 1.5°C, new research has found.

The 2021 Production Gap Report, prepared by top climate scientists in concert with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), calculates the gap between governments’ plans for oil, gas, and coal production and the fossil fuel production that would align with other thresholds—including national climate pledges and warming of 1.5 and 2°C.

“Governments continue to plan for and support levels of fossil fuel production that are vastly in excess of what we can safely burn,” stated Ploy Achakulwisut, a scientist with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and one of the report’s lead authors.

“The research is clear,” Achakulwisut noted, “global coal, oil, and gas production must start declining immediately and steeply to be consistent with limiting long-term warming to 1.5°C.”
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/weather/topst ... d=msedgntp

I love the language used by these fools: "What we can "safely" burn". Good grief. You don't even have a proven scientific hypothesis about whether any oil and gas production has any effect on our climate, and you are babbling about "what can be safely burned". But hey people, here's why governments are continuing to expand oil and gas exploration and planned production - there are almost 8 billion people on earth now, who need to be fed, housed and clothed. They need to be able to survive swings in temperatures of 40 degrees C each way, so they need air conditioning in summer and heat in winter. Nothing is going to change that.

So dummies, you can babble on about "safely burning" things or you can accept that without oil and gas, billions of people will die.

As I said before, it looks like this winter, people are going to die, thanks to scum like these guys. They are literally going to be killing people, thanks to this nonsensical fake apocalyptic garbage. Enough! Put a cork in it idiots!

Peter Tertzakian: We are witnessing the perils of a disorderly energy transition
Renewables going up is not translating into oil and gas going down

Climate crisis plus energy crisis does not equal a good path to net-zero emissions. Policy wonks at the upcoming COP26 conference in Glasgow later this month will have a tough time with this calculus.

It’s been a while since the phrase energy crisis has been thrown around. When I hear it, I have déjà vu to the 1970s, the late-2000s and other lesser episodes in between. I reflect on societal hardship, ugly politics and uncertain outcomes.

Today, a panoply of numbers is pointing to a looming energy deficit that may rival big ones of the past. Volatile commodity markets agree: The price of oil, now over US$80 per barrel, has doubled in the past year. Natural gas in some markets has shot up five-fold. Coal, the fuel with more lives than a black cat, is setting record high prices.

The contagion of energy price inflation is happening from Germany to Brazil to China, and it’s on its way to a gas pump, furnace and wall plug near you.

SNIP

So, what does the updated data show? The global trends to 2021 are shown in the Figure below.

Image

SNIP

The rise of renewables between 2010 and 2020 will be recorded as one of the biggest events in energy history. But it wasn’t the biggest. Whether measured in Joules or dollars, the rise of U.S. shale gas and oil was a bigger transformation. American independent oil companies (IOCs) aggressively took global oil market share, so much so that for the first time in five decades the control of oil markets shifted from the OPEC cartel to greater free-market, global competition.

SNIP

Hackneyed advice
The notion of working with Western oil and gas companies to reduce emissions quickly and be part of an orderly transition to a clean energy future is anathema to those working hard on clean energy transformations and climate change policy. But animosities go even deeper. Non-emitting nuclear power is often left out of discussion too (did I mention that the price of uranium is up 45 per cent since the beginning of the year?)

As a side note, the grass isn’t greener on the clean side of the energy fence: Lithium prices for electric vehicle batteries are now at an all-time high and many vital minerals clean energy technologies are in short supply.

I agree with Mark Carney here, but not in the way that he wants. It is important to take into account the man-made climate change myth in financial decisions, but only when looking at what horrible cost increases that the losers still pumping this myth want to introduce to projects, all in the name of an apocalyptic fairy tale. It's important to review all the damage that these horrible people want to do to the economy, so that these people can be singled out, and shamed, for wanting to bring so much human suffering into the world. For no reason whatsoever.
UN's Mark Carney says 'enormous' stranded assets show the need for a rapid energy transition

The likelihood of fossil fuel assets being rendered worthless underscores the need to decarbonize the world's economy as quickly as possible, according to Mark Carney, the U.N.'s special envoy on climate action and finance.

His comments come in the runup to COP26, one of the most important climate summits ever held. The U.K. will host U.N.-brokered talks in Glasgow, Scotland from Oct. 31 through to Nov. 12.

Speaking to CNBC's Steve Sedgwick for the Sustainable Future Forum, Carney, the former governor of the Bank of England, said it was essential to "retool the plumbing" of financial markets so that every financial decision can take climate change into account. This includes steering lending away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy alternatives.

"We need to mainstream this transition to net zero if we are going to get to where the world needs," Carney said in an interview aired on Thursday.

As part of this effort to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, Carney referenced the U.N.'s Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, or GFANZ, that is seeking to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
