More Liberal tyranny

Post by bob vernon »

The federal Liberals want Parliament to meet on November 22. And they want all MPs present to be vaccinated. Conservatives, of course, want all MPs to be allowed into the chamber, whether they're vaccinated or not and to sit side by side in those cramped desks. 30 to 40 Conservative MPs have refused to divulge whether they're vaccinated for Covid or not and yet they want to waltz into Parliament, possibly spreading their illness to whoever comes near them.

Are the Green MPs fully vaxxed? Our local Green MP was anti-vax, though, only 2 Greens were elected, so that doesn't matter now.

Somewhere there's a post, here or maybe CBC listing all the government agencies as well as Crown Corporations that will not require mandatory vaccinations.
There were more employees on that list than were on the required list.

Sure wish someone could find it.

Are the idiot Liberals going to enforce on their own party? Justin, during his disastrous and downright stupid election campaign, was made to look the complete fool when he was babbling away about the Conservative vaccination policy, and it was pointed out to the dumb-dumb that there were many Liberal candidates who also weren't vaccinated. The idiot Liberals need to take care of their own incredibly dumb knitting before they go pointing fingers at anyone else.

The chance of a vaccinated person getting sick from another vaccinated person is miniscule.

The only imbeciles are the unvaccinated who are basically killing each other with their stupidity.

.............I don't see a downside to Covid spreading through our current Federal Parliament..........a "cleansing" to save Canada so to speak..........especially the Liberals from top to bottom.

The science does not support your statement.

Infected vaccinated people can spread the virus just as easily as infected unvaccinated people can.

That said, given that most experts now believe that aerosols are the primary source of transmission of Sars-Cov-2. if the MPs intend to sit shoulder to shoulder in an indoor environment, they'd be well advised to all wear close fitting N95 masks whenever they're not speaking. And I hope that, prior to resuming Parliament, they also arrange to have someone come in and check the ventilation and air exchange systems in the House to make sure they're adequate.
Universal masking is an effective and economical way to block virus-laden aerosols
Small gaps between the mask material and skin can lead to substantial decreases in the overall filtration efficiency. For aerosols <2.5 μm, filtration efficiency decreases by 50% for a relative leak area of 1%. A study compared the viral filtration efficiency of N95, surgical, and fabric masks using a model virus and found that the efficiency of N95 and some surgical masks exceeded 99%; all fabric masks tested were at least 50% efficient. The effectiveness of N95, surgical, and cotton masks in blocking SARS-CoV-2–containing aerosols has been investigated using manikins placed face-to-face. N95 respirators demonstrated the highest efficiency in blocking infectious SARS-CoV-2. Almost all masks offer at least some protection, but they are not 100% effective.
Implementing effective ventilation systems reduces airborne transmission of infectious virus-laden aerosols. Strategies such as ensuring sufficient ventilation rates and avoiding recirculation are advised. Carbon dioxide sensors can be used as indicators of the build-up of exhaled air and serve as a simple way to monitor and optimize ventilation. Aerosol sensors can also be used to assess HEPA and HVAC aerosol filtration efficiencies, which are key to lowering infections caused by virus-laden aerosols. Assuring a minimum ventilation rate of 4 to 6 air changes per hour (ACH) and maintaining carbon dioxide levels below 700 to 800 ppm have been advised, although the ventilation type and airflow direction and pattern should also be taken into account. Increasing the efficiency of air filtration in HVAC systems, stand-alone HEPA purifiers, or implementing upper room UV disinfection systems can further reduce the concentrations of virus-laden aerosols.

Physical distancing, a mitigation put in place to address droplet transmission, is also effective in reducing the chances of aerosol inhalation because aerosol concentrations are much higher in close proximity to an infected individual. The WHO and many national public health agencies recommend maintaining physical distances of either 1 or 2 m. However, this distance is not sufficient to protect against aerosols that travel beyond this range. If large droplets dominated transmission, distancing alone would have effectively suppressed the transmission of SARS-CoV-2. As has been repeatedly shown in superspreading events, airborne transmission occurs in poorly ventilated rooms when occupants inhale infectious room air. Additionally, although distancing helps by moving people away from the most concentrated parts of respiratory plumes, distancing alone does not stop transmission and is not sufficient without accounting for other measures, such as ventilation and filtration, the number of people emitting infectious aerosols, and the amount of time spent in enclosed spaces. The unknown number of asymptomatic (including presymptomatic) infected individuals present in specific environmental settings is an additional challenge in respiratory disease control. Engineering measures to reduce aerosol concentrations through ventilation, filtration, and upper room UV disinfection remain critical strategies for reducing airborne transmission risks.
unequivocal evidence indicates that airborne transmission is a major pathway for the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and many other respiratory viruses. Additional precautionary measures must be implemented for mitigating aerosol transmission at both short and long ranges, with a major focus on ventilation, airflows, air filtration, UV disinfection, and mask fit. These interventions are critical strategies for helping end the current pandemic and preventing future outbreaks.

The point is that, relying on vaccination alone to stop the spread of Covid is insufficient. Other measures also need to be taken.

For the record, Ontario, despite having a much larger population than BC, is currently reporting far fewer cases of Covid than BC.

Speculation is that it's the result of their Public Health people embracing the idea that aerosols are the primary source of transmission, and taking steps accordingly, thereby reducing transmission rates in schools in particular.

BC has been slow to embrace this theory, preferring to stick to the original belief that droplets are the primary transmission source. Even though the science supports the aerosol transmission idea.

You're making stuff up that I didn't claim.

While it may be possible for a vaccinated person to spread the virus, the chance of another vaccinated person *getting sick* from them is miniscule.

That's why almost all of the people flooding our ICUs are unvaccinated in spite of them being a small and stupid minority of the population.
