LILLEY: Trudeau government's $7.4B in spending shows disdain for Parliament

Once upon a time, a government announcing a slew of new programs and $7.4 billion in new spending without a vote in Parliament would have faced tough questions.

COVID times are not normal times but what the Trudeau Liberals are doing is still completely wrong.

The $7.4 billion in new spending for the Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit, the Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program, the Hardest Hit Business Recovery Program and more isn’t your normal press release announcement with a vote and spending to happen later.

The spending begins Sunday but Parliament won’t even begin to vote on these measures for another month.

That’s because instead of recalling Parliament immediately after the election, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau decided to recall the House of Commons for Nov. 22. That’s two full months after the vote and two days after their authority to allow new spending ends.

SNIP

The bottom line, as we have seen, is that Trudeau doesn’t like Parliament, he doesn’t like working with the opposition parties – especially in a minority setting – and he doesn’t like that anyone might say or do something to stop his will from going forward.

An analysis of sitting days for the House of Commons published by the Globe and Mail earlier this week showed that the number of days the lower house has met has fallen over the years and most dramatically over the past few years. This can’t be written off for COVID because this year the Commons is scheduled to sit more than 2019 or 2020.

The average number of sitting days since 1975 has been 123 but just 105 sitting days for the Trudeau Liberals. That means fewer Question Period appearances, less committee time, less scrutiny.

So it appears that he has carte blanche for another month, I don't know if we can afford to sell any more farms
Once I thought I was wrong.....but I was mistaken...

I suspect JT really going to need Singh to be on his side, with out him JT will lose the next no confidence motion.
Of course Singh can now ask for almost anything and get it, for his cooperation at next NCM.

Trudeau outmaneuvered all the other parties. He made the conservatives blow their war chest wad - and made people question the party and their leader on flip flop after flip flop. Trudeau made the NDP spend money they wish they didn't have to spend n this election. Trudeau put the Bloc in their place because they didn't make any gains. And finally, Trudeau made the green party spontaneously combust from within now that May stepped back.

There would never be a non-confidence vote in a million years. And not just because of the NDP. There are 3 parties that can't weather another election. And possibly even the conservatives. Because with the questions swirling around OTool - and the conservative party - I say they would come apart at the seams. This puts the JT Liberals in a very comfortable position as a minority government.

Trudeau has a chance to put a stamp on his legacy term - and there will be a strategized passing of the torch. The biggest candidate would be Freeland. She has global connections from when she was a journalist. She showed a male-dominated trade negotiation that she wasn't a pushover. (I give a shout out to Rona Ambrose who was a part of that trade team) And she has had the finance portfolio which hasn't caught the eye of anyone besides the party of "no". Most people didn't lose their shirts besides Trump wannabes who had no business calling themselves a business. Which in a pandemic recession is obviously gonna happen.

I see 4 years of social policy - a green initiative policy - and business owners actually having to work hard to live up to the hype of their "messiah complex". Canadians have tasted sustenance that businesses have had for 40 years. A business as usual despite a recession. Bills were paid and not many lost their shirts. But the cost was high when they did their taxes after covid. So I dont know what people are talking about with cerb being a free ride. I talked to a woman this evening that had to pay 8000 when they did their taxes. That aint no free ride.

Trudeau outmaneuvered all the other parties.
Firstly, Justin "outmaneuvered" no one. He's far far too dense to outmaneuver a house plant, let alone anyone else. He's a paid actor reading a script.

Secondly, the only people in that election that were "outmaneuvered" were the Liberals, who basically outmaneuvered themselves. They went into that campaign with hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars being blown to support them, a big lead in the polls, and then they blew it, running one of the dumbest and worst election campaigns in Canadian political history. They missed a shot at an open net, and lost the election. What a bunch of boneheads.

Actually, in terms of confidence votes, either the NDP or the Bloc will suffice. As it happens, neither of those parties want anything to do with the CPC, and neither has any ambitions to actually form government. Interesting dynamics.

What I am seeing from pundits so far, for what that is worth, is an expectation that this minority government will go 3 years, and possibly full term.

So maybe 4 more years of pointless Trudeau bashing from CPC aficionados while the CPC implodes. That's IF Trudeau decides to hang around for another election.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

And yet we all know that the Liberals covet a majority, and so any swing in the polls will cause them to force their puppet Justin to call another needless $600 million election and send him out on the campaign trail to babble and stumble his way through a bunch of horrible speeches uttering useless platitudes about all the things he is going to do (and never does) while blaming Stephen Harper for all the things he hasn't done. Rinse repeat the stupidity of the Liberals.

Or, if you're not a lying horrible demagogue - four more years of pointing out what a useless arrogant loser Justin Trudeau is, and what a horrible party he leads. Criticizing Justin for callously going off to sit on a beach and flying right over Kamloops while doing it isn't "pointless Trudeau bashing", it's pointing out what a massive idiot the Liberals have for a leader. And a massive idiot the Liberals do have for a leader.
while the CPC implodes.
LOL - and this fairy tale again being sold by the horrible Liberal aficionados. Just total demagoguery at its finest. Such foolishness. The half-wits and losers keep hoping for this "CPC implosion", while the only actual implosion is going to occur within the Liberals. They cost taxpayers $600 million for an election trying to get a majority and they lost. They have massive egg on their faces right now. The Liberals aren't getting a majority, they just suck too hard. Chretien just said so himself. They are on course for a huge implosion, and yet while it's happening, I bet the Liberal aficionados will still be babbling away about O'Toole and hurling racial epithets at Leslyn Lewis, praying that she won't be the new leader of the CPC.
That's IF Trudeau decides to hang around for another election.
Let's all hope that this last election will "Make Justin a Drama Teacher Again". He has no business running a country. No business whatsoever. Far too dumb, far too arrogant, far too much of a total loser.

Mo' money fo' da Trudeau Clan, from your wallet.

Prime minister's mother spoke at event hosted by organization that received federal funding for jobs program

OTTAWA -- An organization that received $5.8 million from the federal government to help job seekers from under-represented communities is refusing to say if it paid the prime minister’s mother, Margaret Trudeau, to speak at an event it held this month.

She appeared in Elevate.ca’s Think2030 series, on October 14, to speak about mental health and the effects of the pandemic.

Elevate is a Toronto-based not-for-profit that says its mission is “to unite Canada’s innovators to solve society’s greatest challenges.”

Proving once again just what a dim-witted fool he is, Justin has appointed a complete psycho path as minister of environment and Apocalyptic fairy tales. Everyone knew that Climate Einstein McKenna was a total trainwreck, but this guy is pure scum! What a total idiot! Justin, you need to resign, you've completely lost it!
Guilbeault to become Canada's next environment minister as Trudeau unveils new cabinet

Long-time environmental activist Steven Guilbeault will be Canada's next minister of the environment and climate change, CBC News has confirmed.

Liberal sources told CBC News that Guilbeault, who has worked with groups such as Equiterre and Greenpeace, will be moved to the crucial portfolio from his previous post as heritage minister.

His appointment comes just days ahead of the United Nations climate change conference in Glasgow (COP26), which will draw leaders from around the world — including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — to discuss the climate crisis.

It's a last ditch, desperate effort to keep the "opportunity" alive.

As more and more people understand they've been manipulated and used by the alarmists and the "settled-science" crowd, Trudeau will pull out all the stops to get his full-on social-activism agenda as much illusion of support as possible. Here, though, he may have overplayed his hand.
[T]he people who have infiltrated the Liberal Party of Canada and now possess its soul would like to define the country’s values in a way that turns most Canadians into peasants.... No thanks. - Nigel Hannaford
