Putting an extremist in the position is a poor choice no matter which end of the spectrum they are from. This is akin to the CPC winning and putting an ex executive from an oil company in that position.hobbyguy wrote: ↑Oct 27th, 2021, 12:36 pm
Guilbeault has already accomplished part of the task - just by being the "firebrand" that he is, which is to be a messenger. Wilkinson is the one who will actually get things done in balance of things, smoothing the way to a reasonable and steady progress. I've only had a brief opportunity to interact with Wilkinson, but he struck me as a very engaged and reasonable person.
The proof will be in the pudding, and that will play out in the next 4 years.
Simply not the appropriate choice.
That's the only real one that stuck out as poor, well I suppose Harjit Singh Sajjan maintaining a cabinet seat at all is poor as well after his very poor performance.
The rest I wish luck to doing something good, time will tell.
The last time I won a prize at the fair everyone told me I was a winner, but really, the prize was crap, my wallet was empty and the only happy person was a Carney.
Don't empty your wallets to make a Carney happy folks.

Trudeau is such a fool..

“ After a useless election, we get a useless cabinet shuffle that tosses out its most useful member. In the lead-up to the recent federal election, I was not alone in being fed up to the back teeth with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s stream of gaffes, apologies and non sequiturs. In common with many in my riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount, I nonetheless held my nose and voted Liberal to keep Marc Garneau as our MP, so he could continue doing a superb job serving the country as a cabinet minister. With Garneau now gone from cabinet, voters in my riding feel as though they’ve been had, and all Canadians have lost more than they know.
True to form, Garneau has decided to accept his lot with grace, saying that it was an honour of have served in cabinet. I can’t be so Zen.
Having Garneau turfed out of cabinet showed an egregious lack of judgment on the part of the prime minister. A cynic might say that Garneau’s rare skills, brainpower and ethics made Trudeau uncomfortable and that he prefers to surround himself with less demanding, more malleable cabinet ministers.
Knowing Garneau as I do, I suspect he also refused to be a lackey to the all-powerful Prime Minister’s Office. As minster of transport and then minister of foreign affairs, Garneau did what was right and what was best, not what the PMO told him to do.
Marc has been a friend of mine for years. I have developed a growing admiration for his sangfroid, his sense of justice, his biculturalism, his critical thinking, his energy and his vast experiences. After all, Garneau was a Navy captain, an astronaut who logged 700 hours in space and the president of the Canadian Space Agency. He has a doctorate in engineering and 11 honorary degrees.
But Canada’s loss is larger than just the end of Garneau’s wise input in cabinet. When a prime minister boots out the most qualified member of cabinet, his only possible public explanation could be that Garneau was sacrificed in the name of gender parity. But why pick the best to leave? Is the price of diversity a precipitous drop in competency?“

Energy stocks are tanking today and dragging down the whole TSX on the news that Trudeau has appointed the Greenpeace fanatic, Steven Guilbeault, to the position of Environment Minister. Investors are seeing rough waters ahead with this guy in charge of the environment file.

Oil stocks fell today in Canada and the US because of large inventories reported today down south.

Go figure, pumping JT up and his crew and all the while Canada is number one in the world for giving money, subsidies to the fossil fuel giants. Some of the richest individuals and corporations in the world getting more money than any other country on the planet.
How disgusting. How embarrassing that anyone in a normal state of intelligence need's to try so desperately to get others to believe what they need to. That their leader is the greatest cuddlier of all times. Like Elmo was for so many.
" Canada topped the subsidies list, providing an average of almost $14 billion a year, the highest amount of money of any where else in the world comes from the liberal government, and given to the corporate giants and richest individuals".
Any other politician got busted with this the very same people would be losing their minds.
Doubt their is a sole out there who isnt disgusted in this, but their will be a few who will need to ignore it at all cost's. To try to change the acknowledgement of it, to survive for another day.

Ya? So? Our idiot of a PM appoints a radical nut-case bent on destroying Canada to be Minister of Apocalyptic Fairy Tales??? This is insane! This is like Harry Potter - and if Canada had a "Ministry of Magic" (which man-made climate change basically is) and then appointing Valdemort to be the head minister. Just such stupidity, tragic massive stupidity being put on display here. The Liberals and Justin just plain suck.

This has nothing to do with our idiot in Chief Justin. This is all on the senile old fool Biden in the US. What a mess, and what a joke to have two such enfeebled, brain-dead idiots as leaders of our two countries right now.crookedmember wrote: ↑Oct 28th, 2021, 7:37 am Price per bbl on day Trudeau took office: $40

Re: All Things Trudeau, Chapter 2
Justin Trudeau is a giant piece of human garbage.
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/john-i ... au-cabinetJohn Ivison: Blue Liberals are seeing red over new Trudeau cabinet
'This is Canada’s first NDP prime minister,' said one Liberal
The reaction to the most recent cabinet shuffle from a number of current and former Liberal caucus members was visceral.
“They (the current leadership) are vandalizing the economy,” said one senior Liberal (a shopworn phrase that in this case is justified.) “Business-oriented Liberals are apoplectic,” he said.
As I wrote Tuesday , this is not a cabinet that inspires confidence that it will be able to ensure continued prosperity and national unity.
A number of Liberals reached out to express their concerns at the appointment of former activist Steven Guilbeault as the new environment minister and the removal of other more centrist voices like Marc Garneau and Jim Carr .
“This is Canada’s first NDP prime minister,” said one, noting the irony that when real New Democrats have been elected provincially, they have been forced to abandon their “eat the rich” dogma.
SNIP
“The only pro-business thing Trudeau has ever done is legalize weed,” said one MP.
It is impossible to gauge how widespread the discontent is within Liberal circles but it’s clear that the new cabinet offered an opportunity to reboot the relationship with the private sector. That has been squandered.
SNIP
This rather gloomy picture is what is concerning many economy-watchers. Canada is one of the world’s most advanced economies but it has no God-given right to remain as one.
Carolyn Wilkins, the former senior deputy governor of the Bank of Canada, told the Coalition for a Better Future summit in Ottawa on Wednesday, that Canada has been falling behind its peers in terms of economic growth per capita in recent years because of weak productivity. “The concept of economic growth can seem very remote to human desires like good health, business success, meaningful work, affordable housing, welcoming communities, clean water, access to good education and a healthy planet. It’s just a number…But weak productivity diminishes our capacity to invest in Canada’s future and it diminishes our ability to keep public finances on a sustainable track,” she said.
