I heard 500 doctors were among the 4000 put on leave in the province... why are we not being given a breakdown of how many specialists, doctors, nurse practitioners, RNs, health aides are being canned?????
I'm in contact with one MD and his wife, they are sad to leave but will go to the US as, I'm sure, the others will. A terrible loss for our health system.

I heard that if you are fully vaccinated you are many times less likely to end up in the hospital and or die. I heard that to travel by plane, train, or across any international border you must be fully vaccinated and able to prove it. I heard the vax mandate is making people feel safer about mingling with others. I heard the unvaccinated will continue to have increasing restrictions placed upon them. I heard the fully vaccinated will have more freedoms and opportunities. I heard the vaccines are very...very safe.

I think there is more to this story than meets the eye..... maybe wrong.... but want some ideas ... on why so many in our area... are not stepping up to the plate.....

I will start with some way off suggestions...but love to hear more...
AND of course... have read the doctors will head south can not blame them more money and freedom ....

Ok here we go..
Suggestion 1 - it is interior of BC,,, and they are stressed out.. await the ski season... to chill and no pay but well off to take some time...
Suggestion 2 they are part of a couple and the other person can carry the dept load... just tighten up the belt abit and carry on.
Suggestion 3 They see a good rise of their home price because of the inflated real estate... say why have the hassle... at work... we can sell our house and move to a cheap area... with coin to spare....
Suggestion 4 those on paid leave are out of touch with Bonnie Henry and her ideas.... but forget she owns part of a winnery here so she does not really care... lol
Suggestion 5 - maybe we have a upper management issue in the area... and need a good house cleaning... !!!

I think some of them have just witnessed vaccine injuries and don't want to take the chance to risk their health. This is at least the stated reason for why one local nurse is not getting the vaccine and is choosing to lose her job instead. It is probably true for some of the others as well. I don't blame them. To us these vaccine injuries seem rare because most of us probably don't know of anyone who has been injured nor have we seen a vaxx injured person up close. Some of these health care workers probably have which could change their perspective I would think.

Meantime, in Lumby, the one day a week lab tests being done by Valley Medical Services will end next week, also due to staffing issues, but could return if the situation changes.

It means residents of Lumby will have to go to Vernon for those tests.

Barbara Dyck of the Lumby and District Health Services told Global News it means Lumby residents will have to go to Vernon for lab tests which she says is difficult for some people, notably seniors who have to rely on others for transport.

On CBC radio this morning the man in charge of Lumby outlet said they had trouble getting staff before but Covid “restrictions” [mandatory vaccinations?]. pushed the situation over the cliff

Transport Canada has announced this. The insane travel mandate was pushed back and is likely unenforceable.
A public announcement by Justin Trudeau is NOT A LAW, however much he might like it to be! We unvaccinated are still travelling and will continue to do so!!!!

The Covid vaccines don't work as well on the Delta variant because they were developed for the alpha strain. The reason the Delta variant came along was because the Covid virus was allowed to propagate. The booster vaccines I believe are targeted for the Delta variant. The sooner the virus is stopped, the less chance for other variants that may or may not be as harmful as the Delta to be produced...........See how that works?

Covid's kill rate is also close to 10X deadlier than the ordinary flu's. Delta variant is also more transmissbile than the ordinary flu as well................See the difference?

BTW, the virus will never be stopped, even with 100% vaccination rates. The vaccinea are too leaky and the virus too contagious.
