BTW, the virus will never be stopped, even with 100% vaccination rates. The vaccinea are too leaky and the virus to contagious.
It is the same vaccine, but studies are showing that a booster of the same vaccine is providing more protection against Delta. At the same time, they're also looking at trying to tweak the vaccine to target the Delta variant specifically.

Just read that Interior Health has the highest number of no vaccine Medical staff on unpaid leave... ho hum
I think there is more to this story than meets the eye..... maybe wrong.... but want some ideas ... on why so many in our area... are not stepping up to the plate.....
I will start with some way off suggestions...but love to hear more...
AND of course... have read the doctors will head south can not blame them more money and freedom ....

Ok here we go..
Suggestion 1 - it is interior of BC,,, and they are stressed out.. await the ski season... to chill and no pay but well off to take some time...
Suggestion 2 they are part of a couple and the other person can carry the dept load... just tighten up the belt abit and carry on.
Suggestion 3 They see a good rise of their home price because of the inflated real estate... say why have the hassle... at work... we can sell our house and move to a cheap area... with coin to spare....
Suggestion 4 those on paid leave are out of touch with Bonnie Henry and her ideas.... but forget she owns part of a winnery here so she does not really care... lol
Suggestion 5 - maybe we have a upper management issue in the area... and need a good house cleaning... !!!
Health care workers have been leaving or planning to leave for months, according to reports, so I don't think it's really over the vaccine, it's the job in general, and quite a few were just about ready to retire anyway. Covid has just been the last straw.
"Health-care workers really are at the end of their ropes right now," said Old.

In the Interior, the twin emergencies of persistent wildfires and rising COVID-19 cases have left many nurses overwhelmed and leaving their jobs, with reports that around two-thirds of emergency room nurses at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops have quit in recent months due to stress and burnout.

It is not just hospital workers who are struggling, either. The HEU has workers in a wide variety of health-care sectors, including cleaners, lab assistants and pharmacy and X-ray assistants.

Old says a number of those in long-term care and assisted-living struggled after the province brought in rules forbidding employees from working at multiple facilities, resulting in an increased workload, which, he says, was a necessary but difficult policy.

The Covid vaccines don't work as well on the Delta variant because they were developed for the alpha strain. The reason the Delta variant came along was because the Covid virus was allowed to propagate. The booster vaccines I believe are targeted for the Delta variant. The sooner the virus is stopped, the less chance for other variants that may or may not be as harmful as the Delta to be produced...........See how that works?

Covid's kill rate is also close to 10X deadlier than the ordinary flu's. Delta variant is also more transmissbile than the ordinary flu as well................See the difference?
source? I'm not saying you're wrong but I was under the impression that it's the same vaccine. Am I wrong?

Ah....spoke too soon....
This third dose would be identical to the two doses of the currently authorized Pfizer vaccine. However, the company is also investigating how an “updated” vaccine dose, altered to target the Delta variant specifically, would fare.

A Pfizer spokesperson told MNT:
“The ongoing booster trial is evaluating the safety and tolerability of the current BNT162b2 vaccine. While we believe a third dose of BNT162b2 has the potential to preserve the highest levels of protective efficacy against all currently known variants, including Delta, we are remaining vigilant and are also developing an updated version of the vaccine that targets the full spike protein of the Delta variant. The first batch of the mRNA for the trial has already been manufactured, and we anticipate the clinical studies to begin in August, subject to regulatory approvals.”

Maybe you all should just get an IV drip of the stuff... for that matter, maybe they need to start investing in a "patch" instead of a jab

How would that be better than spacing the doses, eight weeks or so before the second dose, and six to eight months for the booster dose? Studies have shown that the way Dr Henry rolled out the vaccine with a longer period between the doses has shown to improve the response. Not to mention the inconvenience of a continuous IV which is a)not being suggested b) not likely to be more effective, c) hasn't been studied d)completely unworkable. So it seems three short visits to a clinic, is more effective and efficient. People who are doing it find it pretty easy and quick, the process has been streamlined. When you think the time of a basic qualified nurse (or pharmacist) can give a shot in a minute or two, compared to tying up highly trained ICU nurses, equipment, hospital resources, days or weeks from the person's time, risks of the disease, to a 15 minute visit to get a shot. Seems pretty simple. And it's quite possible they will find that not eveyone needs that booster dose, youngish people have a stronger immune system, elderly and seniors might benefit more. This has also been shown for flu shots, some seniors are given a higher dose flu shot with better results, and usually get a yearly dose.
People complain that the vaccine was developed too quickly (which seems like a good thing), and then they complain that it wasn't more perfect , right out of the starting gate. Normally tweaking vaccines takes years not months, to find the most effective dosage and timing. B.c. did a smart thing by spacing the doses, and has a lower death rate than many other places, still people criticize.

The arrogant "critical thinkers" is a trait of those who has succumbed to conspiracy garbage. If you aren't there now, it won't take long.

They're exempt.
Just to clarify. ANYONE can TRAVEL anywhere in Canada, by ANY MEANS, with a negative test. On a plane, on a train, on a bike or a hike.
Transport Canada has announced this. The insane travel mandate was pushed back and is likely unenforceable.
A public announcement by Justin Trudeau is NOT A LAW, however much he might like it to be! We unvaccinated are still travelling and will continue to do so!!!!
According to this Transport Canada page travelers are required to be vaccinated ... if you're "in the process" there is a way to use a test to travel ... (updated on Oct 30)
For travellers who are in the process of being vaccinated, there will be a short transition period where they will be able to travel if they can show a valid COVID-19 molecular test within 72 hours of travel. By November 30, all travellers must be fully vaccinated, with very limited exceptions to address specific situations such as emergency travel, and those medically unable to be vaccinated.

Is there another source you can provide with your update?

I believe they prefer to be called "freethinkers" now... at least for the ones that worship at the altar of His Lord and Saviour Joe Rogan.
