Re: No EI for the unvaccinated
Since our friends on the right are unwilling to accept the fact that unvaccinated people are more likely to spread the virus to the vaccinated, lets look at it another way.
What if 20% of a workforce are unvaccinated. (In some parts of BC, AB and SK, that could be 50%.) What if one unvaccinated employee contracts the virus, brings it to the workplace, and it spreads like wildfire through the other unvaccinated employees?
Who pays the sick leave when 20% of the workforce is out? Who pays when the employer is fined or sued for not keeping those unvaccinated workers safe?
This is why these workplace/EI decisions should be made on the advice of doctors and scientists who understand viruses and how they spread. Not by anti-vaxxers and Trudeau-haters who get their information from facebook and Mr. Carlson and oftentimes struggle with the difference between "your" and "you're."

Or maybe you should first work to understand that a view on vaccines isn't tied to antivaxers or Trudeau haters b4 we continue the conversation.crookedmember wrote: ↑Nov 2nd, 2021, 11:08 am This is why these workplace/EI decisions should be made on the advice of doctors and scientists who understand viruses and how they spread. Re: No EI for the unvaccinated
If we won’t allow the unvaccinated to work, while also denying them access to EI, we shouldn’t be surprised when the crime rate goes up. Because people HAVE to feed their families, and if society won’t let them do so legitimatly, people will turn to other means.

If the unvaccinated insist on making themselves unemployable that's nobody's fault but their own, and ignorance and stupidity are no excuses for turning to crime. Anti-vaxxers need to stop trying to blame everyone else for the consequences of their poor choices.

It's interesting that so many people come across as completely incapable of differentiating between opposing mandates where they can't be proven to make sense (along with the denial of EI), vs opposing vaccines.Sparki55 wrote: ↑Nov 2nd, 2021, 11:18 amOr maybe you should first work to understand that a view on vaccines isn't tied to antivaxers or Trudeau haters b4 we continue the conversation.crookedmember wrote: ↑Nov 2nd, 2021, 11:08 am This is why these workplace/EI decisions should be made on the advice of doctors and scientists who understand viruses and how they spread. IMO, until there's evidence an unvaccinated worker is more likely to come to work while infectious than a vaccinated person who is infectious, there's no logical reason to ban the unvaccinated from the workplace.
Indeed, logic tells us those with lesser symptoms would be more likely to work while infectious, and that's what we're told is one of the main benefits of the vaccine: lesser symptoms.
The only way to prevent infected workers from spreading infection in the workplace is constant testing. If the situation doesn't warrant constant testing to determine who is infectious - the surest way to prevent infection in the workplace - it's not serious enough to through unvaccinated workers under the bus by denying them their EI, when a vaccinated employee seems at least as likely as an unvaccinated employee to be spreading the infection in the workplace.

Re: No EI for the unvaccinated
What does if it matter if an unvaccinated or vaccinated worker comes to work while infectious? The 20% or 30% of workers who are unvaccinated at that workplace are going to be sitting ducks.IMO, until there's evidence an unvaccinated worker is more likely to come to work while infectious than a vaccinated person who is infectious, there's no logical reason to ban the unvaccinated from the workplace.
The unvaccinated are not just dangers to the vaccinated, they're even bigger dangers to the unvaccinated in their midst.
Rapid tests are not accurate, and traditional tests take time and money. By the time results come back, it's too late. You've already infected a bunch of your fellow workers.

Or are simply obtuse.TheLiteralKingofEngland wrote: ↑Nov 2nd, 2021, 1:05 pmIt's interesting then when repeatedly shown scientific proof that the mandates make perfect sense, some people claim no proof has been provided. Therefore, the only logical conclusion is that these people oppose vaccinations.

It keeps getting harder to claim that unvaccinated job losses aren't driven by the usual right-wing freak parade of dangerous dullards.
If the government does deny EI benefits to these pinheads, who cares?

When the same debunked statements are presented ad nauseam page after page, that is the only conclusion because there is no other point to make and looks obtuse, stubborn and frankly a little ignorant.nucksRnum1 wrote: ↑Nov 2nd, 2021, 1:26 pmOr are simply obtuse.TheLiteralKingofEngland wrote: ↑Nov 2nd, 2021, 1:05 pm

Careful, this will I'm sure come across as silencing the nurses and doctors among the unvaxxed. Here's the irony from the article......crookedmember wrote: ↑Nov 3rd, 2021, 7:57 am It keeps getting harder to claim that unvaccinated job losses aren't driven by the usual right-wing freak parade of dangerous dullards.

Perhaps if Mr. Friesen had gotten his vaccine, he might not be fighting for his life.Taylor said unvaccinated healthcare workers have a “moral imperative” to build a new healthcare system. He made the announcement in Toronto, where he travelled to be with anti-vaccine influencer and fellow PPC candidate Mark Friesen, who was intubated in hospital battling COVID-19.

Well, I guess this chump won't be needing a job anytime soon. If ever.
And some posters on this thread believe we should coddle these folks for their bad decisions and reward them with EI cash.

Regardless of his choices it is pretty sad that you have to make a comment like that. He likely has a family and children.crookedmember wrote: ↑Nov 3rd, 2021, 8:30 am

The people he has worked so hard and long to convince to decline vaccination and are now in ICU fighting for their lives also have families and children.
