The question I guess is, will they be raised again afterwards?

Re: Flags at half mast
I'm going to suggest that we leave the flags lowered after November 11 in honour of the veterans who died or suffered under Conservatives cuts, AND the children who died at residential schools. That's something we can all get behind, right?
So let's support veterans, rather than prattle about flags.
The [veterans] group says in an e-mail it was formed after cuts to Veterans Affairs occurred in parts of the country under the Harper government.
An auditor general's report late last year said one in five ex-soldiers seeking mental health care had to wait up to eight months for their application to be reviewed.
Nine regional offices that served veterans were closed by early 2014 despite complaints to former veterans affairs minister Julian Fantino.
So let's support veterans, rather than prattle about flags.

It’s imperative that the flag goes back to full mast, not just so that it can be lowered for the day for the Remembrance Day ceremony, but also so that the flag can be lowered to half mast to honour police officers, fire fighters killed while on duty, and important leaders such as premiers, the PM and the Queen if they were to die.

Trudeau has been undermining Canadian institutions since he was first elected PM - and the Liberal Party of Canada has gone along with it.
How he's using our flag is just another prong in the divide and conquer strategy - diminish and undermine whatever ordinary Canadians usually unite around, so we will be more amenable to following his agenda.

Our Queen is 95, what’s Trudeau’s game plan if she were to drop dead today, lower the flag to quarter mast ?rustled wrote: ↑Nov 4th, 2021, 8:56 amHurtlander wrote: ↑Nov 4th, 2021, 8:49 am It’s imperative that the flag goes back to full mast, not just so that it can be lowered for the day for the Remembrance Day ceremony, but also so that the flag can be lowered to half mast to honour police officers, fire fighters killed while on duty, and important leaders such as premiers, the PM and the Queen if they were to die.![]()

So, once again we're seeing this is about personal vendettas against Trudeau, rather than concern for veterans and flags.rustled wrote: ↑Nov 4th, 2021, 8:56 amHurtlander wrote: ↑Nov 4th, 2021, 8:49 am It’s imperative that the flag goes back to full mast, not just so that it can be lowered for the day for the Remembrance Day ceremony, but also so that the flag can be lowered to half mast to honour police officers, fire fighters killed while on duty, and important leaders such as premiers, the PM and the Queen if they were to die.![]()

It truly is a stretch to suggest lowering flags in honour of the thousands of dead children is an attempt to divide the country.
The facts are your party basically ignored the 50th anniversary of the flag, AND slashed benefits for veterans.

Why does a flag have to be involved at all?Hurtlander wrote: ↑Nov 4th, 2021, 9:03 am Our Queen is 95, what’s Trudeau’s game plan if she were to drop dead today, lower the flag to quarter mast ?

Re: Flags at half mast
Like simply explain that the flag is lowered for both residential school victims and whomever else might die in the meantime? Sounds reasonable enough.

Maybe they are keeping it a half staff so they can raise it when Trudeau dies.

Many a truth... This isn't that outlandish a suggestion, when we consider the way he has been undermining Canadian institutions. He "serves" at our expense.Beerhunter341 wrote: ↑Nov 4th, 2021, 9:45 am Maybe they are keeping it a half staff so they can raise it when Trudeau dies.

OK. We got it about 20 posts ago that this is about Trudeau, rather than about the flags and veterans Conservatives couldn't care less about.

I can understand the flags being at half mast for a day, (out of respect) however are they to remain at half mast forevermore

Take the flags down...all the way down. Raise them full mast when our beloved country stands united for all Canadians.
