In the end it comes down to the consumer, if nobody is buying then you're right, there is no incentive to sell.

I guess there is no way to control it. Look at how long the TV Evangelists have been scamming people for money.
Pretty much the same thing if you ask me.

That's your prerogative, however:
Canada has the 9th highest rate of bullying in the 13-years-olds category on a scale of 35 countries
At least 1 in 3 adolescent students in Canada have reported being bullied recently
Among adult Canadians, 38% of males and 30% of females reported having experienced occasional or frequent bullying during their school years
47% of Canadian parents report having a child victim of bullying
The rate of discrimination experienced among students who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans-identified, Two-Spirited, Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ) is three times higher than heterosexual youth
40% of Canadian workers experience bullying on a weekly basis

It is said that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Schools should never be closed to diversity of opinion. The enforcement of group-think in our societies appears to be strengthening, as educators and public personalities are increasing in peril of being ostracized and shamed simply for expressing views that are not in vogue politically.
The biggest problem of censorship is that it tends to be the last resort of the ideologically arrogant and intellectually lazy … A day spent in defense of freedom of speech is a day spent in the company of bigots and hate mongers. – Omid Malekan

Re: Canadian journalists are increasingly under attack online
I’ve worked with journalists as they chortled over what they thought were clever takedowns of those they disliked or disagreed with. It should not be forgotten that ‘serious’ journalists, far more than internet bloggers, YouTube 'influencers' or even presidents have had the real ‘bully pulpit’ at their command. It seems that many of them want to return to those days, free speech be damned.
Let’s not get lost in a fog of dissemblance. Very few (particularly on the right) want to restrict the ability of citizens to practice what we call journalism, that being the right to investigate, inform, or even to misinform people who are too busy or simply disinterested to explore the facts for themselves. The primary threat to a free society comes when governments collude with “approved” outlets to limit dissent by restricting the free flow of information and alternative views. Just because the NYT lied about Russian collusion for years and were rewarded for it with a Pulitzer, or big tech censored the NYP for trying to inform the public about the contents of Hunter Biden’s infamous laptops, that is no reason for the government to intercede. It will be messy from time to time, but a free media remains the best way to separate fact from fiction.
Intimidation and threats of violence can be dealt with under current laws. Mean tweets, childish insults and such should not be exploited by control freaks in government to justify an agenda of heavy-handed legislation that will further chill or criminalize journalism in the name of defending it.

I see an erosion of common sense. People in the shadows on the right worked methodically with a mantra of alleged fake news from sources that keep the right grounded in reality. Now we have people who across the world were at a macabre site of an assassinated US Democratic President in Texas. Waiting for said president's son to come back from the dead and take the presidency back for Republicans. Or the qanon insanity. That just says whatever garbage that they spurt out - like Jewish lasers starting fires in California. Or that the last US election was stolen. No matter how many times they are proved wrong.
