You heard the man, you're an idiot
Great article today that puts the blame squarely where it lies. With the buffoons who think they know how to drive in Canada.
It's hard to deny.

Re: You heard the man, you're an idiot
There's a lot that rings true about that article. I do think they're not quite seeing the entire bigger picture tho.
Some additional items to consider:
- New drivers, drivers who've moved to the area from another location that rarely sees snow.
- 1st real "stick to the road" snowfalls of the year are typically more treacherous than later snowfalls. Snow that falls at or near the freezing point easily compacts into ice, and the road conditions can change quickly and/or vary dramatically. Snow that falls in January at -6* for example generally results in less treacherous driving conditions.
- Some drivers panic and drive excessively slow/cautious until they settle in and that anxiety passes. Causing frustration in others. That frustration can lead to poor decisions/risk taking.
But yeah - the bulk of the reason is simply a matter of people not adapting appropriately.

If your life-long job includes spell-checkers, context, and facts, then I hope they include themselves.
Here in Edmonton, there is approximately 57 weeks of snow every year.

Re: You heard the man, you're an idiot
I saw it as well, but you beat me. No matter the content of an article, a glaring error tends to cause the reader to wonder which other "facts" are as accurate.
Was it a typo ? Is the writer so ill-informed that they don't know there are only 52 weeks in an entire year (even in Edmonton). Even Tuktoyaktuk doesn't get 52 weeks of snow a year (but very close).

If so it was pretty well hidden. Talk about dry. Also no other yuks, not even a slight smile, to be seen.
Doubt it very much.

I found most of the piece quite satirical:
Götterdämmerung of twisted metal?
it’s not an “accident”: It’s because you are an idiot.
or you thought you could operate a motor vehicle in Canada without owning an ice scraper.
and firmly removing your head from your derriere.
