New Brunswick now provides grocery stores the option to prevent unvaccinated from entering
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brun ... -1.6272151Malls, grocery stores, salons must enforce physical distancing or may instead require proof of vaccination from all patrons.
Politicians just can't get enough of violating the charter rights. Funny how the conspiracy theorists were right about this one too. Wonder what next week's restrictions will bring

You forget that it's up to the grocery store which way they'll go. You don't have any rights to enter that store. You are a guest and if they want you to take your shoes off at the door and put on fuzzy bunny slippers, then you need to do that to get in.

At what point does someone have a right to get some food?

They already do, they just don't like the stores rules. The same as if someone wanted to buy groceries naked and screams 'charter rights' BS because no grocery store wants them walking around with it all hanging out.
The best part about the 'twitter files' is where Tucker Carlson asks Hunter Biden to help his kid get into college.
Some right wingers definitely have a secret folder full of naked Hunter Biden photos.

Remote or online shopping is a thing in most major grocery stores at the moment. You even get a special parking spot when you come to pick up your order.
Just because you've always done it that way doesn't mean it's not incredibly stupid.

People will be driving through the grocery store doors if they decide to go down this path. I would think grocery store owners are smart enough not to require vax to buy food.

Re: New Brunswick now provides grocery stores the option to prevent unvaccinated from entering
Fortunately in. Canada we have our rights and choices guaranteed. With each choice a citizen makes there are responsibilities and consequences. A citizen has the right to be unvaccinated. Along with that right the person must respect the benefits and consequences of their choices.
The fact that a person is unvaccinated and does not have a legislate medical exemption restricts their social interactions a result of their decision. They can get food, prescriptions, and other essentials ordered on line or by telephone and delivered to their residence. Independent store owners and retailers have the right to set reasonable entrance and service rules.
Members of our family who have chosen not to be vaccinated have realized that their social and daily accesses have been limited. They have stuck to their decisions and found work arounds. The crunch will come mid January when one bread winner must produce a vaccination certificate or be furloughed without pay; rights, responsibilities, and consequences.

Remember, the government is making this voluntary by the stores. Let's see if any follow through.
On the other hand, try getting into New Brunswick.
All travellers, including New Brunswickers returning to the province, must register or have a multi-use pass.
Unvaccinated people entering the province are required to isolate and take a test on Day 10.
Up until earlier this year one could not get into New Brunswick unless you lived there or had a valid reason for entering. And that kept case counts low.
But then the province relaxed the rules last summer and let everyone in, including me.
Since then cases up increased.

A few posters have explained that to you. Don't make it sound like you're the victim because you can't do things your way.

I'm vaccinated. I'm no victim.
I'm standing up for others. This is out of control.
We're not talking about no shoes no shirt no service. We're talking about requiring people to inject things into their bodies they aren't comfortable with.
We're not dealing with a plague where an infection is a death sentence. Protect yourself, get the vaccine. Once you're vaccinated yourself, quit pushing your agenda on others.
There is no other thing to compare this to. It's unethical to force people to get a medical procedure under the guise of saving others. The same way we don't force people to donate one of their kidneys to save other people.
Disagree with me all you want but clearly you don't follow any philosophical teachings or ethics.

Businesses are private property and have the right to refuse to serve any person they want, on other hand this action can cause bad PR.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Re: New Brunswick now provides grocery stores the option to prevent unvaccinated from entering
Some people feel strongly that it should be entirely up to them whether they get the COVID-19 vaccine. In Canada it is a personal decision to get the Covid vaccine or not. However, there may be situations were inter personal contact and the desire to reduce/prevent spread of disease may require provisions, which may include the introduction of PPE and vaccinations. The requirement to be vaccinated is a perfectly legitimate case where the avoidance of harm gets priority over personal autonomy. It is a reasonable mandate that health care workers get vaccinated so that they do not risk infecting the people they look after. Similarly an employer may require vaccinations as a way to protect employees or customers from the spread of the disease. Of course, accommodations can be made for people who have health problems that prevent vaccination. These employees may work from home or be assigned positions where they are not in close contact with others. However, accommodations are not required for those who refuse to be vaccinated without a valid medical reason. Customers can be offered alternative services like curb side pick-up or delivery.
Those that choose not to be vaccinated for political, personal, or anti-establishmentarian reasons should not expect the rest of society to accommodate them. They have had the right to make a choice. They have had a right to express themselves. Their decision comes with responsibilities and consequences. Like the driver who chooses to drive under the influence, they must abide by the results, consequences, and responsibilities of their choice. They cannot expect the rest of society to accommodate their choice. The ethics of those who choose to drive under the influence are often questioned, perhaps the ethics of those who choose to remain unvaccinated for non medical reasons should also be questioned.

Duh! Order your groceries online and have delivered.

lol - ohhh man - how awkward its going to be when the whole "you reap what you sew" thing kicks in someday. yikes.erinmore3775 wrote: ↑Dec 4th, 2021, 7:34 pm Some people feel strongly that it should be entirely up to them whether they get the COVID-19 vaccine. Not long ago it was inconceivable to imagine how the "...no man will be able to buy or sell unless he..." bit could possibly come to pass in our lifetime. Not so hard to imagine now eh !? Just a couple more wee cranks of the vice and they'll be smugly justifying that too.
