Maybe he can open for Harper as a speaker for angry white rich conservative men. Harper makes a ton of money to project bull *bleep*. That kind of easy is right up Kenny's avenue.

Any thoughts from you about Suzuki's inflammatory statement?

Re: Defund the CBC
Following Dr. David Suzuki since he used to lecture at UBC, the comment he made doesn't sound like him. Perhaps he had a bad day that day and said something he latter regretted.........

Any suggestion that violence is inevitable is wrong and will not lead us to a desperately needed solution to the climate crisis. My words were spoken out of extreme frustration and I apologize."
Did Kenny apologize for his Covid decisions that killed a lot of Albertans and put many more in hospital?

I'm sure unlike Kenny, Dr. Suzuki is more than capable of writing his own apology.
.....so the Rebel didn't write the apology for Kenny's unbelievable stupid decision, then? I certainly didn't read about it from the CBC.

There's a story on CBC about the US planning a diplomatic boycott.
My comment: Too many on here showing their love for China and the fact they have forgotten all about the Two Michaels. I wonder if they ever cared?
Boycott the Beijing Olympics.
Anyone care to take as stab at what happened to that comment?

When the bots aren't working for the Liberal party, they're assigned to the Communist Broadcasting Corporation.
But hey, let's put a positive spin to this. Its taxpayers money, killing two birds with one bot.

Haha…and they brought down one bb too.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

I guess he figured the notes he got from Katie were all he needed.
CBC journalist broke code by attacking carbon tax story he never read
An Alberta-based CBC journalist broke the CBC's code when he critiqued a story he never read, according to Blacklock's Reporter.
Max Fawcett, who is an energy journalist with the CBC, attacked the hard-working folks at Blacklock's Reporter, calling them "shamelessly dishonest" after they published a story about carbon tax.
Fawcett would also say that "lies and deceit keep spreading," despite never having read the story in the first place. Fawcett said there was "an environment where misinformation thrives and where one side has repeatedly shown its willingness to spread it about the carbon tax."
The story reported on how the federal government was earning more in carbon tax than they redistributed in rebates. This contradicted the prime minister's claims that Canadians "will be better off" with a carbon tax in place.
Fawcett did not read the story but decided to go ahead with his attack on the outlet and the article anyway.
The CBC Ombudsman has since said that "there was a violation of Journalistic Standards And Practices when CBC published the column initially."

Shouldn't it be the other way around?
CBC viewership hits record lows as subsidies hit record highs
The CBC has turned the record sum of cash they received from the Liberal government into its worst ratings in history, new figures reveal.
Despite getting $1.5-billion of taxpayers’ money, data from the CRTC show the CBC has dropped to less than 3.9 per cent of viewership across Canada in 2018-2019 – a whopping drop of 25 per cent in just one year.

Re: Defund the CBC
Isn't that good for the CPCers?......Aren't they corrupt and bias towards anyone not named the Liberals?....if so don't you guys want the viewership to be less so that the CBC can't influence anyone? It's a win win for y'all, less propaganda and more whining....Gone_Fishin wrote: ↑Dec 14th, 2021, 7:27 am Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Re: Defund the CBC
It is a complicated picture. That is a narrow segment, and increasingly narrow segment of the total market. Example: I like the CBC series "The Coroner". I don't watch it on CBC - I watch it on a streaming service without the annoying commercials.Gone_Fishin wrote: ↑Dec 14th, 2021, 7:27 am Shouldn't it be the other way around?

The same applies to Kim's Convenience, Murdoch Mysteries, and even news content (which I sometimes watch on Roku).
The data shown doesn't cover such viewership.
What is going on in the world matters as well. Many, many Canadians were very interested in watching the latest episodes of "The President and the Porn Star" as the US presidential election got under way ( a two year process). That meant that all Canadian broadcasters lost a huge chunk of viewership to CNN, MSNBC and FOX. Say what you want about Trump, the guy is all about showmanship and does grab people's attention when he does his reality shows. ALL of the traditional players like CTV saw a large drop (20%+) in viewership as a result.
The CBC is the only Canadian player that produces its own shows as a mainstay. That common streaming services offer CBC programming without commercials is bound to hurt the traditional broadcasting model - the only reason to watch a show like "The Coroner" on the regular CBC channel is if you can't wait for the next episode. The introduction of more streaming services like Disney has only complicated the picture.
The old models of monitoring the success and market penetration of players in the field are no longer valid.
So how many folks watch shows like "The Coroner" or "The National" on a streaming service? No idea.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

Re: Defund the CBC
In other words, if the results show that Justin Trudeau is a complete idiot for dumping our cash into the useless CBC, it's time to change how we measure success so that Justin Trudeau looks like a fricken hero.
Trudeau's responsibility for wasting our money sticks to him like white on Rice, Bill it back to him and see how quickly he changes his tune.

Re: Defund the CBC
The CBC is awesome and worth every penny, and more! And while die hard conservatives will froth at the mouth because CBC isn't just another right wing echo chamber, most Canadians value media that isn't run by corporate interests - especially right wing interests that don't reflect Canadian values.
It's that special time of year when conservatives stupidly act like they're not allowed to say Merry Christmas.
