What are you doing for Christmas?

Post by normaM »

Family dinner, pizza and Netflix, honoring old family traditions?

I'll start - out with friends Xmas eve, quiet Xmas ( and of course must watch Hans drop) Bad Santa ( a fav holiday movie), open gifts, work on Jane Austin - I needlepoint Lobster Pasta, Caesars - only time of the year I drink them. Talk to a bunch of people on the phone.
Late Christmas dinner ( 26th) with friends
Zero decorating... I'll get a centerpiece as a gift ( they get me the same thing every year) watch, so saying this year they won't

Family dinner, prime rib roast.
Son is working Christmas Day (Security), so it will be a late dinner.

Talk to distant family on the phone.

Fake tree is up (3 ft tall)

I have 10 days in a row off work.

Die Hard movies marathon.

Thinking about trying snowmobiling at Big White.

Might drive to Vancouver if they open the highway.

House decorated to the rafters. Kids coming and going as they can. Turkey with all the trimmings, games, opening presents and the laughter will never stop. And dogs - did I mention the puppers - in and out - in and out. Will have one more this year so will be interesting. I'm exhausted before it starts and can't wait. Merry Christmas my Castanet friends!!

Snowmobiling is fun so go for it Even Steven!!

We decided to forego traveling for a variety of reasons, so will probably just stay home with wife and kids, open presents, play board games, and cook some food.

Ha, we all Die Hard fans! But seriously Bad Santa a close second :) The full houses sound fun
Used to go for Xmas brunch - I would organize people who didn't have family here and it was great,, then it started to get too big

One of my traditions is giving gifts to people I barely know, makes them happy

And the original B&W Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim.

It's a classic - no other actor comes close to Sim as Scrooge. Also have It's A Wonderful Life in B&W - took forever for the store to get the B&W version - no way was I taking the colourized version they had in stock.

Never saw Elf but might watch The Santa Claus with Tim Allen if I'm in the mood.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, White Christmas and Christmas Chronicles are a few others that seem to be playing in our house a lot. I haven't seen the Bad Mom's Christmas yet - anyone else?

We stick with classics.
Rankin Bass specials, Alistair Simms' Christmas Carol, It's a wonderful life, Peanuts Christmas, the Grinch

and a few newer ones (relatively speaking), Klaus, the Santa Clause (love Tim Allen), Jim Carey's Grinch, oh - and Scrooged.
I haven't failed until I quit.
