Bsuds, someone put it this way, berry bushes are the way to go because of the BC floods. Blueberries esp. IF you can get them. Pick for one month, enjoy the plant for the rest of the year. :D
We like raspberries but have had issues with boring worms killing them.

This year may stick because, PUPPY. He takes up a lot of time and I love it! I'll be hard-pressed to keep up with the perennials.

Bsuds - planting in a different location may help, and there's this https://www.doityourself.com/stry/keep- ... erry-fruit and https://www.starkbros.com/growing-guide ... s/spraying

We did that and the boring worms followed.

The spraying too? Or just the planting in another area?

Problem is partly because our neighbor has them too and they fly, lay their eggs and the larvae drop and start eating their way up the inside of the plant. By the time you know they are there it's too late.

Just to remind people, piling up snow on roses, bushes etc. protects them from the cold, it's insulating. That's how we're digging out and remaining sane, just piling it all on the plants. :D
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Also, if you pile it in notoriously dry areas it gives your plants a great start in the spring
