Canada Post vs UPS, FedEx costs

Post by Babba_not_Gump »

Does anyone have an accurate idea if shipping a parcel to the coast is substantially cheaper with Canada Post, UPS, FedEx or someone else.
It's a box about 20' x 20" by 20" and probably 5 or 6 pounds.

At one time I would have used Greyhound....

Edit.
Opps.
Thats 20 INCHES x 20 INCHES x 20 INCHES.

Looks like a sail boat mast...carbon fiber one.

I like using Canada post. UPS has sucked for me in the past. Waiting 4 extra days for an UPS parcel right now.
Never use UPS for cross border shipping.

Canada Post will be your best bet. I used Walmart Kamloops and Walmart North Vancouver postal codes to get rates.

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Best be sitting down when you see the courier rates. Due to weight and size, you'll be charged DIM weight.
Dimensional weight (also called DIM weight or volumetric weight) is a pricing technique used by shipping carriers to ensure they don’t lose money on large, lightweight shipments. Dimensional weight is calculated with a formula using the volume weight of a package based on the actual dimensions of the box. While physical weight is the weight of the shipment according to the scale, dimensional weight is calculated based on the package’s length, width, and height.

Ok, calm down everyone and let's go back to square one. I screwed up on the size.

20 inches x 20 inches x 20 inches.
Sorry.

No worries - reposted rates. I used Walmart Kamloops and Walmart North Vancouver postal codes to get rates.
