The Democrats Are Attempting A Coup By Lawfare

One way to conduct a coup is to control who can run for elected office. Examples of this abound in autocracies and police states, with the most recent being China’s coup in Hong Kong. America’s progressive left is attempting the same in this country, by targeting popular Republicans to make them ineligible for election.

Let’s start with the law and its origins. As a rule, the Constitution prevents Congress from prohibiting a person who meets the basic requirements of Article I § 2 (age, citizenship, residency) from competing in a federal election or being seated in government should they win. The sole exception, established after the Civil War in the 14th Amendment, § 3, is for those people who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” our nation.

The background to this is colorful. In British-American legal history, this issue arose under King George III in the 1760s. To simplify a complex story: John Wilkes, an immensely popular firebrand, was a vocal critic of King George. The King conspired with Parliament to ensure that Wilkes, even if elected, would not be seated in the House of Commons. In 1768, the House of Commons went so far as to pass a law preventing Wilkes from even standing for election.

Wilkes was a consequential figure in our history and a favored household name among our Founders. Because they were familiar with his travails, Wilkes’s actions and the actions King George and Parliament took against him gave rise to two clauses in the U.S. Constitution and two clauses in the Bill of Rights.

As to the latter, when our Founders drafted the Bill of Rights, the First Amendment’s protection of freedom of the press and the Fourth Amendment’s prohibition of general warrants owed much to Wilkes. In the body of the Constitution, the protection given representatives for speech on the floor of Congress owes much to Wilkes. And lastly, the fact that Congress cannot normally control who can run for election and then be seated in Congress owes almost entirely to John Wilkes.

Democrats say ID should be needed to walk the streets, but not to vote

Beginning today, adult citizens wishing to walk the streets of Washington, D.C. will need to wear a mask and carry proof of vaccination with them. And possess a photo ID. This is per Mayor Muriel Bowser's orders.

So here we have a Democrat demanding that everyone wishing to take a stroll or walk his dog must have proper identification on him. Yet Democrats in the nation's capital are frantically pushing a bill that would mandate that no state, city, or precinct require an ID of those voting in presidential elections.

Requiring an ID to vote for president is racist, but requiring one to walk around your neighborhood is good policy? Mind-boggling. Does anyone really believe that Democrats think minorities are incapable of procuring an ID so they can vote but have no trouble doing so to leave their homes? Of course not. That is nonsensical. Do they then believe that non-whites ("marginalized peoples") simply can't remember to bring their IDs to their polling place on Election Day, but will always make sure to have it on them every other day whilst walking Bowser the Hound? (As opposed to Bowser the mayor.)

In any case, if you are walking into your polling place to vote, you can put away your ID upon entering. In fact, with H.R. 1, Democrats are essentially trying to ban IDs from polling places.

It Turns Out Sen. Kyrsten Sinema Is A Jim Crow Confederate, According to Biden

President Biden and the Democrats have been reduced to desperate attacks, even against their own, because their agenda is dead.

According to President Joe Biden, Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is now on the side of George Wallace, Bull Connor, and Confederate leader Jefferson Davis.

Why? Because Sinema said Thursday she opposes nuking the Senate filibuster so Democrats can ram through a bill to federalize elections. In Biden’s book, that puts Sinema on the side of slavery and Jim Crow.

“Every official in America,” Biden said in a widely mocked speech Tuesday in Georgia, has to choose: “Do you want to be on the side of Dr. [Martin Luther] King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”

I guess Sinema chose the Confederacy.

Such is the absurdity of the position Biden and Democrat leaders have put themselves in. By staking their midterm election prospects on the passage of a “voting rights” bill no one asked for and that has no chance of passing the Senate, they have been reduced to hurling juvenile insults and spinning abject lies to make their case for reshaping America’s elections.

The insults are as predictable as they are disgusting. Echoing Biden’s farcical accusations of racism against anyone who disagrees with him about the filibuster, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, chair of the House Democratic caucus, on Wednesday wagged his finger and declared that the filibuster “is dripping in racist history, in defense of slavery and Jim Crow.”

That’s the explicit line now, in all its bone-crushing idiocy: the filibuster is racist. You don’t want to be on the side of racism, do you? Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who has used the suddenly racist filibuster hundreds of times in his long Senate career, somehow claims it now stands in the way of preserving democracy itself.

Kamala Harris is now officially a joke

There is no way to recover national political standing once a politician becomes a popular butt of humor, a punchline in a degrading joke. Ask Dan Quayle, who has disappeared from the scene so completely that nobody has even gotten him on the record about the vice presidency of Kamala Harris. My guess is that he is enjoying bitter laughter.

Last Thursday’s interview with Craig Melvin of Democrat-friendly NBC sealed her fate. The Zen koan-like statement, "It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day," closes the case, a brilliantly meaningless platitude that seems to demand meditation, as if there must be some enlightenment lurking in the vast mental emptiness.

But of course, there isn’t. More and more people are reluctantly coming to the conclusion that the woman who is a heartbeat away from the presidency, whose incumbent is elderly and afflicted by dementia, is a dummy. I resisted that conclusion in part because, after all, she was elected California’s attorney general and senator and she is the daughter of two professors, but mostly out of fear for our nation. But as her ex-staffers multiply in number, reports are proliferating of those who know her up close privately saying that, yeah, she is that stupid.

The sole plausible explanation for her rise is disgraceful. When she was younger and prettier, she had a sexual relationship with a powerful married man decades older than she, and thanks to his influence in a corrupt one-party state whose media would never question a Democrat politician on the rise, she had high political office handed to her, ratified by voters dutifully accepting party dictates.

This, too, is utterly mockable, and now that the dam is breaking, will be mentioned more often as she becomes an embarrassment to the party.

And now that the party full of child sex traffickers isn't in power Americans can rest easy knowing that the Democrats are working hard to ensure that disgusting child sex traffickers are brought to justice.

DOJ adds 2 top prosecutors to Matt Gaetz investigation, sources say

Two top prosecutors in the Justice Department were added several months ago to the ongoing federal probe examining sex trafficking allegations against Rep. Matt Gaetz, two sources familiar with the matter confirmed to ABC News.

The Washington-based prosecutors, one with expertise in child exploitation crimes and the other a top official in the DOJ's Public Integrity Section, have been on the Florida-based case since at least July. In recent months, they joined a team in Florida that's been looking into whether Gaetz violated federal law by providing goods or payments to a 17-year-old girl in exchange for sex, sources confirmed to ABC News. The news of the new prosecutors was first reported by The New York Times.

The news comes just days after a federal judge in Central Florida granted a request from attorneys representing former Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg, Gaetz's one-time self-described "wingman," to delay Greenberg's sentencing while he continues to provide prosecutors with information about his activities in connection with the ongoing federal probe.

Greenberg in May pleaded guilty to multiple federal crimes, including sex trafficking of a minor and introducing her to other "adult men" who also had sex with her when she was underage, and agreed to provide "substantial assistance" to prosecutors as part of their ongoing investigation.

Everyone knows that the Democrats are the only political party in America that values democracy and standing up for police officers, which is why it's so not surprising that they so easily won the 2020 election. Because if Democrats hadn't won, the party that hates police and supports right insurrectionists would still be making America a global laughing stock. One would never see Democrats make such horrible and disgusting statements like their opponents.

Marjorie Taylor Greene fumes after reporter accuses her of supporting Capitol riot defendants more than Capitol Police

A video of a press conference has gone viral after a reporter accused GOP representatives of defending accused Capitol rioters more vigorously than they’ve defended the Capitol Police.

Reps Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and two other House Republicans held the presser on Tuesday, protesting what they described as the cruel mistreatment of Capitol riot defendants in jail. During the Q&A at the end, one reporter vividly recalled the insurrection in which those defendants have been accused.

“We saw police officers who had been bear sprayed in their eyes and were blinded by many of these January 6 defendants that you are now drawing attention to,” the reporter said. “I don’t remember you holding a press conference about the ‘unusually cruel’ treatment of the Capitol Police officers.”

Ms Greene was clearly irritated by the question.

“You may not remember a particular press conference about police officers, but I have made many public statements and cried out against all violence against police officers,” the Georgia congresswoman shot back.

Payback: Joe Biden learns the hard way about the wisdom of declaring his fellow Democrats racists

For a political hack supposedly steeped in the ways of politics dating from the days of the Partridge Family, Joe Biden sure hasn't learned much.

Three days after insulting his congressional allies who opposed his bid to federalize elections as being on the side of "Bull Connor," "George Wallace," and "Jefferson Davis," he's now getting a wet mop in the face from his targets -- Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, Joe Manchin, and three other Democrats from swing states.

According to the New York Post:

A group of Democratic senators say they have “grave concerns” about the Biden administration’s response to COVID-19 and have asked the White House’s pandemic point man to explain ongoing test shortages and related issues.

In a Thursday letter to COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients, Sens. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) asked point-blank “why the Administration failed to take more significant steps earlier to increase access to at-home tests.”

“Across America, there are lines for city blocks long to get COVID testing, signs in pharmacies saying they are out of rapid tests, hospitals operating under crisis standards of care, health care staff and first responders falling ill, and millions of people who are exhausted from the toll this pandemic has had,” the lawmakers wrote.

Call that 'payback' and it's a bee.

What made it payback is that Joe's been incompetent in office since virtually the first day of his presidency. This letter outlining Biden's incompetence on COVID tests is just one little festering thing in his presidency. Biden's also been flamingly incompetent on the open border, the recrudescence of inflation, the Afghanistan pullout, the supply chain breakdown, and his many foreign policy failures on Iran, China, and Russia. Nobody wrote a letter blasting Biden for those monster blunders. But now that Biden's taken to insulting his party's allies, and inadvertently suggesting that his party is full of racists, (which if he believed it, he should resign over) now the criticisms are coming.

Democrats to Face Same Catastrophic Fate as Whigs

In November, Republican Glenn Youngkin prevailed in a tough race for the Virginia governorship and led the party in sweeping the state. The result has galvanized Republicans, convincing them, justifiably, that the victory augurs well for their bid to win Congress back in 2022. In that same vein, Democrats fear Youngkin’s victory means Trumpism remains potent despite Trump's defeat. The Democrat party is right to be nervous -- history is unkind to political coalitions forged in opposition to a single individual.

In the early 1800s, America was led by an elite comprised of the nation’s banking and merchant class, and favored using the federal government to nurture the country's economy. Those opposing encompassed small farmers, frontiersmen, and slaveholders.

The clash between these interests came to a head in the 1820s over the establishment of a national bank and tariff rates. The elite favored the bank and higher rates; while the opposition was leaderless.

General Andrew Jackson, a charismatic war hero, emerged as its champion in 1824 when his run for the presidency revealed an incipient populist revolt against the status quo.

Jackson lost his first bid but won a dramatic rematch four years later. His 1828 victory thrilled his supporters, but it horrified the elite; they feared Jackson would establish a dictatorship cheered on by an illiterate mob.

In 1832, the defeated elite rallied around Henry Clay, a stalwart advocate of a strong federal government. Clay believed an unapologetic defense of a national bank would ensure his victory. Clay was spectacularly wrong and Jackson was re-elected in the first landslide in American history.

Following this defeat, the elite shifted into opposition mode. In 1834, Clay established the Whig Party, choosing the name to evoke the English opposition to Tory royalists in that country. Slaveholding states who resented Jackson's strong defense of the Union aligned with them occasionally under the guise of states' rights.
