Dzhastin Trudeau, this is on you.

Idiotic juvenile nonsense as usual from the far right.

Context: grocery stores are struggling to keep shelves stocked throughout the US and Canada. Here is what it is like in the USA: https://www.npr.org/2022/01/12/10724624 ... es-reasons

"Grocery store shortages are back. Here are some of the reasons why"

"No, you're not imagining it. Some grocery store shelves are bare again, conjuring bad memories of spring 2020 for many.

Social media is rife with images of empty supermarket aisles and signs explaining the lack of available food and other items. Stores such as Aldi have apologized to customers for the shortages.

The reasons for the dwindling stock are numerous, according to food industry analysts..."

SNIP

"Lempert said the Northeast is facing some of the worst shortages now, due in part to recent winter storms that snarled transportation routes..."

SNIP

"Everyone's become really reliant on kind of that just-in-time supply chain," he added, "and I think what we're seeing is things are just behind a little bit right now."

Some conservatives have begun using the hashtag #BareShelvesBiden to blame the current administration for the shortages, even though grocery stores experienced serious supply problems under President Donald Trump, too."

SNIP

"Grocery store workers are catching the virus in higher numbers and calling out sick, making it tougher for markets to keep shelves stocked. The stores themselves are finding it harder to source products because of the new strain."

SNIP

"It's more than grocery stores, though. There are workers all across the food industry supply chain who are getting sick and staying home, impacting food production, manufacturing, shipping and distribution."

The food company Conagra, the parent company of brands such as Duncan Hines and Healthy Choice, is just one seeing a rise in "omicron-driven absenteeism," President and CEO Sean Connolly said in an earnings call last week.

"It's entirely reasonable for all of us to project that the next month or so could remain strained within the supply chain as Omicron runs its course," Connolly said"

SNIP

"In addition to workers becoming infected with COVID-19, there are those who have simply quit.

Lempert said the pandemic has turned grocery stores into "battlefields," with employees required to work in person throughout the pandemic, explain food shortages and new public health measures to customers, and try to keep themselves safe and healthy in the process.

"As a result of that, a lot of people said, 'Hey, I don't need this,' and they've left their jobs in the supermarket," Lempert said.
Empty Grocery Shelves Are Alarming, But They're Not Permanent
The Coronavirus Crisis
Empty Grocery Shelves Are Alarming, But They're Not Permanent

A recent survey conducted by the National Grocers Association found that many of its member retail and wholesale grocers reported operating their stores with 50% of their normal workforce."

SNIP

"Climate change isn't a new problem, but it's one that's still vexing the food industry. Severe weather events are becoming more frequent and intense across the world as the planet warms.

According to Lempert, growers are yielding less corn and soy to feed farm animals, which is having a downstream impact on the price and availability of meat, eggs and dairy products.

In Brazil, heavy rains are inundating coffee fields and other crops, which is limiting production.

Severe weather is also making it harder to move food around."

And yup, the messed up highway system in BC from "atmospheric river" floods are still slowing down supply chains, plus many Fraser Valley farmers lost livestock and crops to the floods.

Trudeau Liberal policies have absolutely zero to do with all that stuff, and just shows how idiotic the far right are with obsessive fact free juvenile Trudeau bashing nonsense.

Nonsense. What we are actually seeing is idiotic juvenile nonsense from the far Left, that has crippled this country. Justin Trudeau is an idiot, a far Left imbecile controlled by some truly awful people, and the people of Canada are suffering because of it.

Ballingall's "Canada Proud" knows their audience will fall for anything and they know how to make money off our--shall we say--less intelligent citizens.

Most people find these dull-witted memes repugnant, and that's one reason Trudeau has been able to destroy three CPC leaders so far.

I hope they keep it up, because I like seeing the CPC the perennial opposition party, sinking lower and getting dumber with each passing year.

Ah, so you don't think Trudeau should take the interests of Canadian farmers and food supply chains seriously?

You need to understand there is a big difference from supporting a countries needs first verses cheating, illegally breaking the ground work, defined guidelines and rules set into place from an agreed international signed agreement. In your attempt to blanket over an issue, as you clearly tried here yet again, you ignored the fact that in a trade court JT was found to be directly breaking rules required to be in such an agreement in the first place that we were hoping Canada entered into with good faith. You are obviously saying its ok for a country to secretively be breaking agreements with other countries in order to gain an upper hand and compete at a decisive advantage? Now you can learn from back a few years ago as to why the US had to put tariffs into place on Canadian dairy.
We can assume your saying any country, china maybe mexico should get away with using cheap labor, government hidden subsidizes to be able to take advantage of another countries trade?
Interesting you think like this.

The law doesn't apply to the Trudeau Liberals. We've learned that over the past 7 years, painfully.

Rules for thee, not for me says Justin.

It's #Justiniquitous

I guess they figure Canada should just roll over and let trading partners take advantage of us, like He Who Shall Not Be Named did with FIPA and the Chinese, or how the same former defeated PM wanted us to take any NAFTA deal the Americans offered.

That's really sad, and it doesn't sound very "Canada Proud" to me.

They'll be rooting for the Russians like Republicans 'fore long.

Ummm... yes Mexico does get away with cheap labor.

Ummm... the whole thing was a coercive effort by Trump the rump to score political points, and if you don't think the Yanks cheat like heck on the agreement, just look at the softwood lumber debacle.

The USA constantly breaks its agreements with other countries. As noted the current dairy thing is part of Trump and the USA breaking the previous agreement.

No point being Pollyanna about it, this is how the game is played with the Yanks.

Sunny ways, my friends, sunny ways.

The International Monetary Fund forecasts Canada to have the 4th highest inflation rate among 35 industrialized countries in 2021 and the 8th highest unemployment rate.

This results in Canada having the 6th worst Misery Index score (combined rates of inflation and unemployment) in 2021 out of 35 industrialized countries.

Yes, when Justin rolled over on FIPA and the Chinese it was an embarrassment for sure.

It's an embarrassment that JT can't do anything about the FIPA and the Chinese as that is an unbreakable stain on the economy of Canada for decades thanks to JT's predecessor and now the leader of the Opposition.
