Here's something that is making me sick right now.

According to Angus Reid:

A majority of Canadians - 70% - say employees who refuse to be vaccinated against COVID-19 should be dismissed from their jobs, according to a new poll. The survey conducted by Angus Reid.....

But I saw a CTV News poll that said the opposite. 82% of Canadians are not pigs, not bigots, and they DO NOT SUPPORT restrictions on unvaccinated. So who is lying?

So who is lying?

Polls are not polling all Canadians, they take a sample or samples. So the timing of the poll could make a difference, the wording of the poll could be different, the population might be different (urban/rural, eastern provinces vs. western, men vs women, older adults vs younger). If the poll was conducted when covid cases were low-ish , say in early sept., or climbing (a few months later after reopening, variants spreading) could change the percent of people in favor of some restriction or mandate.
So you mentioned two different polls," should people lose their jobs if unvaccinated" and a hypothetical poll where"82% of Canadians are not pigs, not bigots, and they DO NOT SUPPORT restrictions on unvaccinated". So "restrictions on unvaccinated" could be interpreted differently than "losing jobs", more people might suppor "restrictions" than "losing jobs".
Also I am guessing that given the high rate of vaccination in B.c. compared to say, Sask, you could get quite different results if more of the respondents were from one or the other location.
Here's one where about half of Canadians were in favor of employers requiring boosters. So that surprised me, because there's been a lot of flak about the boosters, yet half supposedly think they are a good idea (apparently).

Not sure why people put any validity into what a poll's results are. Thinktank shares an image of some poll where just over 92K are polled. The link provided by SSQ shows a poll of only 1012 people, yet the opening headline is "half of Canadians support". Polls do very little to change someone's mind regarding whatever the subject of that poll is.

As for the thread topic, nothing is making me sick so I'll change the topic from sick to frustrated. I dont have 10 but here goes:

1. Mask mandate still in effect. Closing in on 90% full dosed, this should be lifted and become a personal choice.
2. Restrictions are different pending which region you live in. Ex. Fraser health is worse off than IH, yet IH is only allowed 50% capacity at indoor events. Higher daily and current active cases are in the FH area. Perhaps higher vax rate in FH compared to IH but there cant be that big of a gap!!
3. People who are still very worried that we are still in dire straights with regards to C19. We are probably 90% to the good and chances are by early spring 2022, C19 fizzles out and becomes similar to a yearly flu strain. Booster's already available!!

If you can get a sample of a similar demographic to the country, you can have reasonable certainty of the sample representing the overall view of the country.

A random news webpoll represents those who happened to visit the page and is laughably easy to multi-vote to let the dishonest anti vax crew pretend it means something.

I know that JT's wife got C19 I believe back in 2020.....Feb or March cant remember. I also thought that there was a report that he caught it sometime in 2021.....perhaps I'm wrong. Who really cares anyomre, vaxd or not Omicron has peaked and done it's job here in BC. We are oh so close to that endemic stage......BH and Dix just need to bite the bullet and accept it!! She has promoted weight loss and making personal health changes, so when were you hired as an expert on her health?
She has lost 35 pounds,Besides going for a weight loss, Goldberg also decided to kill some old vices, such as her decades-long smoking habit. She said of having breaks in between, "A month off helps too. I'll be ready again in a half a year to take another month off. I think that has a lot to do with it as well."

Speaking on her weight loss journey, Goldberg revealed that she believes a gradual weight loss is the best kind. According to her, she gets scared when thinking about losing more.

That is silly talk - Whoopi realizes how easy it was to get omicron even though she hadn't done anything or been anywhere so obviously not knowing exactly how she got it - but the fact that it's that easy to pass on should be relevant. Colds don't appear to be near as infectious.
