Why does being open to a higher power equate to worshipping a bloodthirsty superhuman?
I don't try to imagine a personal God; it suffices to stand in awe at the structure of the world, insofar as it allows our inadequate senses to appreciate it.

The skeptics annotated bible has 871 instances of genocide, murder, violence and cruelty. Maybe your eyes missed them, or you cherry pick. One or the other.
