I Think wrote: Mar 9th, 2022, 12:26 pm Chicken pox comes back years later as shingles, because the virus has been hiding in your body for years.
It has been shown that covid attacks more than just the lungs, it affects the heart, liver etc and we have no idea if it comes back in a few years as dementia, knock knees or club foot, strokes heart attacks or poverty.

My doctor told me when he got the vaccination & if he got it I wanted it.

If you do not care enough about your neighbors, family and friends to get the shot, do not expect the rest of us to care about you.
How is someone not getting the shot such a big danger to everyone else? Like if one person in the group is not vaccinated, they are some big threat to your health? It's very interesting that people see it that way. and do they see it that way or are they just saying that cause that is what our own health officer and prime minister are putting into people heads. Spreading hate. No wonder some people are so hateful when the leader of our country is the same way.
This is just your pet theory that those of us who support the vaccine, do so out of hate.
In fact, most people put a lot of thought into it, and got the vaccine because we think it is important, some of us for different reasons. It had absolutely nothing to do with hating anyone.
Someone put that corny misguided idea in your head for some reason, you might want to ask youself why would they do that?
Every time someone makes a comment about the effectiveness or safety of vaccines, or concern for those who have suffered from covid, and how we'd like to reduce that, you seem to think they are talking about hate. Weird.

You seem to want to justify your anti vaxxer stance, save your fingers, there is no justification, and most folks (90% of us) think anti vaxxers are stupid and round shouldered.
Well, that’s sure nice of you to say

That is not true at all and makes no sense what you said. What’s true is that alot of the comments people make are unkind.

There have been many unkind comments by all kinds of people, most reading those comments don't think that means the person commenting hates the reader. Commenters may feel strongly about their beliefs, they may not like to hear different opinions, that doesn't mean they hate someone who just has a difference of opinion. Now it might be nice if no one made any personal comments, but it never seems to fail that someone makes a personal comment, even when they know practically nothing about that person. Still it doesn't mean they hate them.
There's Grandan with his far out theory about sugar causing heart disease. But no one feels threatened by that, not even the Cookie monsters, or sugar addicts. I am sure there are plenty of people who believe it, and at least as many people who are convinced that it is dietary fat, or vaccines, or covid or stress that is causing heart disease. But since he didn't get personal or insult anyone, his comment stands and no one seems to be overly upset about it. Consequently, he is not feeling any "hate" comming off of other commenters. Maybe everyone agrees with him, maybe no one does. It is a concept worth discussing tho.

Okay, well thx for over analyzing it and making it into something it isn’t. There is alot of hate speech going on towards unvaccinated people. Alot of people dont like the divisiveness this is causing. Me being one of them.

I gotta say, knowing that I wont be dying of a blood clot or some sort of heart disease makes the hate flow off like water over a hydrophobic surface. To anyone who took it, have fun with that. :130:

Well this thread isn't about hate speech but heart disease increasing and diet is a big factor as well as physical activity declining.

What do you mean by divisiveness? Everyone is not going to agree on topics of health, certainly not on vacccines or anything to do with covid. By now we all know, that people are "dug in", it's not likely that anyone is going to change their minds at this point. Soon the restrictions will be lifted, gone, and people will find some other topic to disagree on. There will never be agreement on ANY topic , ever. Some people already think Putin is doing a fine job, others don't. Another topic for "divisiveness". If you want a discussion forum where everyone agrees, you need to find a Facebook page that you agree with, or start your own, and which kicks everyone off who doesn't think the "right" way, and you will find complete harmony and no divisiveness at all.

common_sense_guy wrote: Mar 10th, 2022, 8:13 am Yup. the vaccine.. time will show.
Now lets all imagine the people that could see this coming because of their medical expertise, and what would have happened to them speaking out. They would have lost their jobs and careers because of a legitimate worry they had as a medical professional had the government already had in place whatever they're trying to do to combat what they call missnformation.
Who are they going to put in charge to decide what is misinformation.
The truth is what starts as conspiracies theories early in any situation a lot of time comes to be the truth. And you want to silence people that have legitimate concerns and worried about each of us when we know our government doesn't care one bit about us. Any proposals to the government brings to combat what they call missinformation should be rejected firmly by the Canadian public. I just pray the sheeple don't allow it to bring us all down because of their complacency.( hope I use the word properly but I'm sure you get the meaning of what I'm saying)
If any medical experts want to run a properly conducted study on any aspects of vaccines they certainly could do that (there are already many ongoing already). There is nothing to prevent them from submitting a well designed study for peer review and publication.
Conspiracy theories don't "become truth". Some are totally wrong, some are partly wrong, some have some grain of truth, maybe, but are unproven. There seems to be a weird kind of logic out there that if you can come up with a theory, no matter how far-fetched it's going to be proven true at some point. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. so let's not confuse everyone's crackpot theories and guesses, with diligent well constructed scientific studies. Show us studies, let us see in detail how they were condutcted, let us see the comments or critiques of other researchers.

Health care cannot be designed upon all these pet theories and then we all just vote on which one we think sounds good.
Just using the term "sheeple" really could apply to those who are following these theories which have little or no basis in actual fact.If Joe Rogan says it's so, then it must be so (which even he admits he knows little other than his own experience being infected and a few good stories). so Letters to editors, facebook shared experiences, are all wonderful for entertainment, but should not be used to make public health policy. Information about new variants, rates of transmission, rates of hospitalization, case fatality ratios, these are more helpful, but predicting which way they will go, works maybe in the short term, but have sometimes been inadequate in the long term. So yes numbers are looking better and better the last few weeks, but numbers world wide also have to be considered, to be able to look ahead a bit and see what the virus or vaccines are doing elsewhere.
Looking at data from Feb 2021, on how many thousands of people got a headache, a sore arm, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, from a vaccine given over a year ago, is not going to help us much with what will be the result with the next, newer vaccine vs. the next variant. Hair-brained populat ideas like taking horse wormer for the last two years didn't work out so well for poor countries like Peru, their attempts at using that and "natural immunity" resulted in death rates far higher (five or so times higher) than other rich countries which had the vaccine. So just because an idea catches on with some, does not mean it actually works any better than snake oil ever did.
I'm sorry I've seen many of your replies and I think you're completely out to lunch with all due respect. I could not even read your whole message before I replied. Open your eyes girl. I will not answer any of your messages directly to me or in response to anything I've said anymore as I do not believe you have any kind of grasp of what's going on in most situations. I am looking forward to any of your posts that I actually agree with and will speak up if I ever do see one but I am not holding my breath. Take care have a great spring and summer

Where else could an increase in heart problems be true? The Philippines. A 17% increase. Did the Philipinnos adopt a western diet of red meat and saturated fats? :135:
I saw an article that talked about the increase in heart issues for otherwise healthy athletes
The Israeli Real-Time News Tuesday reported a 5-fold increase in sudden cardiac and unexplained deaths among FIFA players in 2021.

Since December, 183 professional athletes and coaches have suddenly collapsed, with 108 dead.

A Real-Time News investigation revealed that most of the athletes were males, with only 15 females, and the vast majority being 17-40 years of age. Only 21 are older (5 aged 42-45, six aged 46-49, 7 aged 51-54, and 3 others aged 60-64). 23 were teenagers, aged 12-17, of whom 16 died.

The investigation revealed in over 80 of the cases, such as football stars Sergio Aguero and Christian Eriksen, the athletes collapsed while playing, racing, or training, or immediately after. Scientific literature calls the phenomenon of athletes collapsing for reasons unrelated to injury rare.

See, now that's a healthy way to look at it. Do what's right for you, and be happy with your choice.
No need to focus on some small minority of haters, because 95% of Canadians want the same thing, Pandemic to be over, life to go back to normal, wayyy too many other things going on to spend time spinning wheels over some dumb or unkind comment by someone you don't even know. Getting all worried about what strangers are posting somewhere, can't be good for anyone's heart health either. Stressing/stress hormones are a major contributing factor in heart disease.
