Russian lawmakers push bill to fine anyone equating USSR with Nazi Germany

Russian lawmakers on Wednesday adopted a bill to impose fines on anyone who equates the role the Soviet Union played in World War II to Nazi Germany – a position it claims is necessary to counter "slander" by Baltic nations.

In the third and final reading of a bill first introduced two days before Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, fines and prison sentences were attached to a 2021 law that banned language associating actions by the USSR with Adolf Hitler’s Germany.

The 193-member UN General Assembly will vote tomorrow over suspending Russia from the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council.A two-thirds majority of voting members in New York would suspend Russia for committing gross and systematic violations of human rights.

Russians would disagree. I know, you would say, they are just lying. But at the same time, you would believe the MSM here, which has lied just about anything they scribble, .. anywhere from "Russia collusion", to Hunter Biden's laptop and criminals dealings with the Ukrainian government, just to name the most recent.

Not much news lately as the Russians are shifting. Ukrainians will have a tougher go of it now, no more ambushing mobile Russian columns. I assume their remaining conventional forces to be eliminated over course of April. Wrapped up by May?
