Re: The Castanet Gab-O-Rama
So here’s a question I’ve been pondering, and honestly, can’t decide what to do.
Two years ago I bought a little Honda xrv. This year, I was forced to buy winters, because, well I got stuck trying to get home. Too much snow. Only kal tire was open. On my old Honda, I had bought winter tires through Honda, either rims, so my wheel changes were free. The thing is, I didn’t buy extra rims with these ones from kal tire.
So … my dilemma is since I’ve bought from Honda, they give free exchanges if I buy another set of rims. Looking for suggestions.

OEM rims are the way to go if you can afford them and if you plan on keeping them.
Many of the other rims, Costco, etc are well priced but they start rusting after the first winter.
On second thought, you could buy the cheaper rims and use them with your summer tires, use the OEM rims in the winter.
Just make sure your hub caps fit the cheap rims.
And as for doing wheel changes, can you learn to do it yourself? Mind you, CRV wheels and tires are a bit heavy, 16" maybe.
Or a nice, strong friend?
Tire shops charge $50 to $60 for a changeover if the wheels are mounted.

Do they give free tire change overs if you buy rims or do you have to buy the tires from them as well?The_quiet_one wrote: ↑Apr 10th, 2022, 3:20 pm… my dilemma is since I’ve bought from Honda, they give free exchanges if I buy another set of rims. Looking for suggestions.
