here you go :)

Cold medicines being withdrawn include: Johnson & Johnson Pediacare Infant Drops, Tylenol Concentrated Infants' Drops, Wyeth's Dimetapp Decongestant Infant Drops, Novartis' Triaminic Infant & Toddler Thin Strips and Prestige Brands Holdings' Little Colds Decongestant Plus Cough. Smaller companies may continue to sell the medicines.

Thanks Ferri, I try not to give my daughter anything if I can help it, so for those rare times it's good to know which ones to look out for.

if you click on link, right under the list of medicines is a list of other things you can do, like salt water drops etc. i should have posted that too! :)

when my kids would get stuffy they would actually ask me to squirt the saline up their little noses. LOL they liked it! :127:

I just wanted to say (in case it wasn't clear) that the recall isn't so much as targeting specific brands ( i.e. these ones are bad but these ones are good) it is about the safety and efficacy of all cold meds. in children under two. And, advising serious caution in administering cold meds. to children between two and six. At least that's how I understood it from the news on t.v.

That's partially true....and yes, it applies to ALL children's cold and cough medication. My father in law has been a pharmacist for 40 years and has always recommended NOT give my little ones any of the medicines. Firstly, because they don't work so why give them medications that don't work. And secondly, because they are very strong medicines and when given to parents who are exhausted from living on 2 hours of sleep with their coughing, cranky children.....innocent mistakes can happen(doesn't mean ALL parents are idiots!!....just some).

My father in law swears by a teaspoon of honey before bed and I have been giving my kids (aged 2 1/2 and 4) this for a year or so now when they're sick and it works like a charm! Of course, children under 12 months shouldn't be given honey.

When they have a really bad cough, I also prop their beds up by putting pillows under their mattresses so they sleep in a more upright position which also helps to lessen the coughing.
Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.
