A product called Staticin is amazing!
You may want to talk to your Dr. about this.

It comes with a sponge applicator, but use it sparingly.
A new pimple only needs to have the product applied with a toothpick sized dab once, maybe twice and voila!
I know! Sounds amazing! :200:

i used Phisoderm and a Buff Puff for a long time when i was working in a really dirty place. nothing like cement dust to clog everything up. :lol:

i have no idea. :lol:

i see it has changed a lot since i used it. it used to come in a green bottle and was like a liquid soap. PH balanced and really did a good job of cleaning. there was no perfume in it either. i really liked it.

Phisoderm which I grew up with, and god help you when you used to get it on your lips it tasted awful!!!
But we've tried it with him, and it doesn't work for him. Sounds like I will be making an appointment with the doctor to go over some of the suggestions.
When I was young I was also put on tetracycline, but ended up having a reaction to it. Broke out in a bumpy red rash all over my face.... yeah that was great! Not like the acne wasn't bad enough :200:

LOL yes! it tasted horrible!!! but darn it worked great, especially with a buff puff. i love those things too!

The green bottle was PhisoHEX somewhere along the line, they changed the ingredients and it became Phisoderm. I think it was a food/drug thing which made phisohex a prescription product, this happened about the same time that NEOsporin changed to POLYsporin.

As for Brettbaby, I would not recommend these products as they are medicated and can be very irritating and drying. Buff Puffs or other abrasives can damage sensitive skin.

My recommendation (and that of many dermatologists) is Cetaphil lotion.
It is very mild and will not irritate or strip the skin. You could use a rough washcloth if you like, but I find that it can harbour bacteria which can aggravate skin conditions. I prefer to just use my hands.

If you have areas with breakouts, you can use something like a benzoyl peroxide product specifically on those areas.

With adult acne, it is a good idea to check with your doctor. It could be an indication of a hormonal imbalance, lupus, rosacea or other conditions which can be mistaken for simple acne.

Buff Puff has a soft, small scrubber just for the face. you aren't supposed to use it like sandpaper though. :lol:

I think it's fine to exfoliate if you don't have any real problems with your skin. I have used those in the shower in the winter when I get scaly.
I find them a bit too abrasive for my face.

Often people with breakouts equate those breakouts with oily skin or "dirt". More often than not, that is not the cause. I remember using Ten 0 Six lotion when I was a kid and Seabreeze. They were both extemely drying and irritating. It didn't do anything to stop the acne, but left me with a crusty layer of skin on top of it. It made a bad situation even worse. Then of course, you had to pile on foundation to cover it up.

It was not pretty.

oh it sounds pretty! i remember when the advise was to use rubbing alchol on bad skin. i can just imagine how that must have felt. not to mention the drying!
i was very lucky, i hardly ever had a problem with my skin. in fact, as far as i can remember i only ever had one zit. and i remember that thing like it was leprosy! LOL

i thought i did! but no...i didn't.

remember how using Noxema was supposed to fix skin problems too? :lol:

i liked washing my face with it, but i don't think there was really anything in there that would help problem skin. it was sorta like mentholated lard.
