Re: All things Jagmeet
I agree; it’s clear that Canadians didn’t want ANY one Party to have all the say. That they wanted to see more collaboration across Party lines. A position which I would define as wanting a more centrist approach. And, if the result was a Government more willing to LISTEN and CONSIDER suggestions from other Parties, Canadians would have got what they were hoping for.
But having one small Party agree to provide blanket support to prop up the Government for a period of three years, in effect giving them a majority, is NOT the same thing as forcing the Government to seek cross Party cooperation on individual issues. Rather, it is a repudiation of what Canadians actually voted for.
I support the idea of including basic dental care under general healthcare. And I’m not opposed to the NDP negotiating with the Government to achieve it. But, in giving the Liberals carte blanche to rule as a majority for the next 3 years, the NDP “gave away the store”.

I'm sure the NDP doesn't see it that way as to giving the Liberals carte blanche to rule Canada.....it seems to me Jagmeet got exactly what their party was looking for, share of the power and the ability to withhold that support anytime it wants.Merry wrote: ↑May 16th, 2022, 8:35 amI agree; it’s clear that Canadians didn’t want ANY one Party to have all the say. ^^^ Absolutely correct foenix. Mr. Singh and the NDP have the ability to influence legislation and policy without the requirement of becoming part of the legislative government. They are still an Opposition party and if you examine their positions during Question Period, they are not always on the side of the government. If anyone has lost power or influence it is Mr. Trudeau and his Liberal caucus.
We can’t fight homelessness, hunger, or poverty, but we can fight climate change. The juxtaposition of the now and the future, food for thought.

Pure evil hypocrite.

Jagmeet Singh, the man with the Rolex watch and bespoke suit, driving his freshly polished BMW, who sells out to the corporate Liberals at every turn, thinks he represents working-class Canadians
The guy seems to only dislike the wealth other people possess.

Re: All things Jagmeet
I’m also sure the NDP don’t see it that way, BUT that is what they’ve done.
IF they had agreed to support the Libs on one or two specific issues in return for free dental care, that would be the kind of collaboration one expects to see when a minority Government is in power.
But Singh didn’t do that. Instead he agreed to prop up Trudeau’s Liberals for the next 3 years, without knowing exactly what policies he would have to support in order to keep up his end of the bargain. Effectively giving the Liberals carte blanche to rule as a majority Government for the rest of their term in Office.
The Liberals did not agree to “share power” with the NDP. If that was the case they’d have formed a coalition and appointed some NDP members to cabinet.
The Liberals didn’t even agree to consult with the NDP on key issues going forward.
All the Liberals did was promise to move towards including dental care and pharmacare in universal healthcare. But, as the Liberals have been promising that for as long as I can remember, and failed to deliver, I’ll believe it when I see it.
How long is Singh prepared to wait before he pulls the plug on this ill fated deal of his?

As long as he gets cash for Rolex watches, pimpy suits, and Beemers, it could go on quite a while.

That's cute, but it turns out there is no income level cap to being a member of the NDP or holding with socialist ideology. I think some tories get their feelings hurt when someone affluent doesn't buy into conservative ideology, it's like they're a class traitor or something. At least he's had a career outside politics instead of sitting on his butt in parliament for the last 20 years.Gone_Fishin wrote: ↑May 16th, 2022, 10:19 amAs long as he gets cash for Rolex watches, pimpy suits, and Beemers, it could go on quite a while.

If free dentist work is already happening, how come I just had to pay a big dentist bill?captkirkcanada wrote: ↑May 16th, 2022, 10:18 am dentists and denturists are already looking after young toddlers and the top end of seniors , its already happening as far as dentistry . they have received guidence from the feds already, so to say believe it when see it is really saying im blind
