Most suicides are not guns, you want to stop suicides ? Start with mental health, hanging equipment, knives, drugs, then we'll discuss guns. When you learn to drive, start on a quiet street.

.......except most gun violence in Canada is by suicide. I know it's inconvenient topic for gun owners but that's a fact and a public heath issue.

We've had this discussion before, you can't win when the only point you make has nothing to do with real life. I think we would all be better served if you worked on banning cancer. I'd be with you all the way

How many suicides will Trudeau's new long gun registry prevent?

Real life, but guns are way down the list, you have to ban a whole bunch of other stuff before guns even matter. Liberal priorities are simply lip service. Let's go hard on lawful gun owners, but reduce the minimum sentences for criminal offences with firearms. Justify (Haha) that !!

I remember suicide by Semi was popular method.
Spent 20 years in POC fire departments. Responded to a number of suicides and attempted suicides. Not one was with a fire arm.
The current firearm laws Canada has is just about right. The ban on some of the recent list of firearms is a stretch, especially the one where "whitey's" are banned from some semi automatics ( not assault guns) but first nations can continue to possess them. Totally hypocritical, but that's politicians for you.

A quick StatsCAN search will prove you are wrong.
From 2000-2009
Firearms used in suicide account for only 20% of cases.
Hanging (for men) and Poisoning (for women) are the vast majority of suicide methods. 40-45%

With only 277 homicides committed using firearms out of 743 total Homicides in Canada in 2020 and over 55% of those firearm-related homicides are Gang related.

Canada doesn't have a gun control problem.

I'm pretty sure suicide by guns is real life.....you're pretty much not gonna come back if one dies....it won't be like in the comic books........the rest is just more deflection and excuses.

We can all strive to be better, in our case that would be in places like UK, Australia, Japan and Germany.
